Domination of the top ladder positions means jack. It's all about September.

I'll take a PF at Telstra Stadium than AAMI or Subiaco any day

You're right but it's always nice to see your team top of the ladder, is all.

Even if it's for a fleeting moment.

I'll settle for top four and a double chance. No more, no less.

Plus after round 10 2004, one of Choco, Sheedy or Leigh (I forget) conceded the minor premiership to St Kilda: 'We can't catch them...'. The Saints finished the minor round in 3rd place. Funny game, footy.

All we can say for sure after round 11 is that we'll finish the minor round somewhere from 1st-14th (I'm backing Carlton and Essendon to not reach 7 wins; I'll still generously give the Roos and Hawthorn a shot at it).

Also: while the SCG might not suit Sydney's style under Roos, the fact remains that it has afforded us a pretty fair home ground advantage over the last 10 years.

Agree, particulary on the Roos. I think a big part of their poor performance is a lack of desire to play. That, in no small part, is caused by uncertainty surrounding their future.

What do they have to play for when they don't know where they'll be next year?

                Ye, I know.

I guess West Coast's loss leaves the door open but it remains a regret of mine that we can't dominate the competition a bit more like the Crows and Weagles.
They didn't lose, but being down 5 goals to Carlton at 3/4 time at Subi shows they're vulnerable. And the Cats should've... (at least we don't have to put up with that sort of crap).

I agree that we tend to think we only need to play at a certain level to beat the lower teams - our h&a position is often lower than it could be because we drop the games we "should" win.

Then again, you could say that we DID dominate the comp from round 7 onwards last year (along with the Crows).
