Round 17 vs Port Adelaide @ AAMI (split thread)

I'm going to Adelaide for this game, was wondering if anyone else was going. This is my first trip to Adelaide.
Where do the Opposition supporters sit?? I'm looking to book it through the club. Can I request to sit with the CS, or am I placed there automatically, since there will be a small group??

Well after getting home from my "focus group" i see that my Port Adelaide ticket has finally arrived, along with a "SA Supporter Member" card for the pre-match function at the Lakes Resort (which is nice, given that this is my first trip to Adelaide).

Sooo..... can anyone suggest a hotel? Where is the "after match function" equivilent? Im tempted to stay at the Lake Resort, but that just SOUNDS expensive?

    Help would be appreciated?
If the siren sounds in Tasmania, and the umpires don't hear it, does it make a sound?

Jazz, too late to get your tickets through the club - stopped selling them over a week ago. Bass is your only option now. See you there - we'll be the ones in red and white!!
Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.

Call Bass & ask for Maree Wise on 131246. Tell her Julian from the Cheer Squad gave her details for contact. She is always really nice to me! She can get you a ticket in the vicinity of our area. We will be in Bay 140. There should be plenty of tickets available the way Port are going.

I bought my tickey last Thursday, and turned up last night .
I'm in section 219, Row B at the Norther end of AAMI. I'm also an Adelaide 'virgin'.
Flying down Saturday morning on DJ402 @ 655am & returning Sunday arvo at 355pm on DJ413. Anyone else on either of these flights??
I'm staying at The Holiday Inn in Adelaide 'city'. I didn't know AAMI was such a hike (thought Adelaide wasn't that big!!)
Hope to see some of you there!!

For all you people who have never been to a Port home game before, be warned. You will be entering feral central. Dont talk to them, respond to them or look at them. And whatever you do, dont feed them!

Obviously someone found out the hard way by feeding them after midnight. The ferals may also have problems with water and bright lights.

I think it was the water that made them feral...

Have they relocated the 'animal enclosure' from Moorabbin to AAMI???

No. No self-respecting animal would want to be seen anywhere near that pack of ferals. Don't forget, they don't bathe!

I'm lucky that Paralowie Power is one of my best mates. So I know most of the hard core Port supporters. Even get invites to their pre-match BBQs. The Port Outer Army & Cheer Squad greet us as friends. The way they treated us afer that final in 2003 is something I will never forget. They were so shattered yet were so respectful. Couldn't have been better to be honest.

Yes Port fans can be both highly obnoxious & extremely feral at times. Some of the ones I overheard at the final in 2003 saying they wanted to "run on the field and belt out Williams" so that they play better in the second half were so feral they weren't funny. In 2004 in the West Lakes Mall car park we had this bikie dude chuck sausages from his BBQ at us because stupid Boofhead yelled at him "What do you know about football? Where are your colours?"

I have had more problems against the Crows than against Port. Because often against Port there are heaps of empty seats. And unlike the Cros fans who are follow their team "to stick it up the Vics" Port fans are just following their local club. (Ok, I will admit the Port mentality is to "stick it up all youse rich bastards!" )

Remember AFL fans in WA & SA are NOT used to away fans. So you may get a really frosty reception from some of them for having the teremity to barrack for the away team in their vicinity.

My motto, go to away games with a positive frame of mind. Make jokes, have a laugh, even sing Anti-opposition songs to get em on side. Make them WANT to like you as a Swans supporter. 9 times out of 10 you will make friends. Because even the most vile of ferals can still have a sense of humour.
