Yes. You're right. I was only counting kicks.

I remember saying at the time that the law of averages say that at least half his disposals should go to the red and white team - i guess this time it did.

Interesting point that one, who is it, one of the Johnsons at the Bombers dropped himself for the same reason.

As for our chances of going B-B, the Crows are a mile in front of where they were last year, particularly given the instability they've had with personnel. Although this time last year no one could get near WC until they unravelled at the end of the year.

As to Roos, the real test of any coach/leader is not how you handle the upside but how you handle the downside. He's handled the early season form slumps well and is being tested again now. Given his (albeit limited) history you'd have to back him again but the next 3 weeks are a huge test. I really feel our best 12 or so players have gone OK in the last month, it's just the bottom tier of performers that has dragged things down, that's where changes have got to be made.

        Id drop Matthers for moore
        Chambers for Doyle
Willo for Willoby (just to give willo a rest)

A point i would like to make is although Crouch only had 10 poss to didaks 14! Every kick and handball Crouch dished hit a swan target unlike most other players in our team! I think he is better in the middle not in the back pocket!

          Didak kicked 4 goals though.

And Crouch's disposal is not good enough to make him a quality midfielder.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Could it be that Roos is over-stating the importance of keeping the number of players to play senior footy low? It worked for us last year but could well work against us this year as fatigue & niggles eventually catch up.

Crouch scragged Didak at every opportunity and got pinged for it a couple of times.

It was the typical sort of play you'd expect from an unfit or injured player who isn't confident to compete on even terms. That's how I am reading it anyway

Crouch was brilliant during during our six game streak.

He was all over the opposition, his pace was up and was pulling off some brilliantly judged kicks.

If he's down at the moment, he's probably carrying an injury.

One wonders whether the Swans much celebrated short injury list is an illusion. I know they can't be listed if they play but an injury is an injury.

Stick them on the list and rest them now - our game against Freo is the perfect opportunity among a less-than-perfect situation (we should have rested them weeks ago).
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

The last three weeks we have been shocking, bordering on pathetic.

I would like to see Williams dropped (or rested) he clearly needs a break. He seems slow atm.

Crouch dropped - i'm starting to agree with aker he is scragging more and more, giving more and more frees away and a number of times failed to attack the ball on the ground because it looked like he would get hit. His shoulder is obviously hurting, stuff the consecutive games record and give the guy a chance to fix it. Thats isurely the only reason he has still got a game.

Drop Matthews - no more needed to be said there.

                          Drop Chambers - See above.

Leave Richards. While he hasn't been a standout i don't think he has been as awful as many here seem to think he is.

The forward line. Constantly hall is double teamed and having his arm held by one of the backmen. (lost count of how many frees he should have got for it this year) But the question is where is the crumbing player whose man is double teaming hall???

For gods sake Roos fix it.

These two issues are related (and not in a good way). In the second quarter on Sat night, Roos did try to "fix it" by throwing Richards forward as an alternative marking target to take the pressure off Hall (and presumably to get free if Hall was double-teamed). Richards failed to either take a mark or create enough pressure to keep the ball in the area.

I'll give him his due for two contested marks on the half-back line in the last quarter. And he looked okay (but not great) in a winning team in Rs 5-10 (which, as I said at the time, is easy). But over the last two weeks he has been as awful as many here seem to think he is.

I'm more sanguine than many about his ability to be a useful long-term contributor; but at the moment he is so down on form and confidence as to be a liability. He needs a break and to get his touch back. Confidence is a great thing-- even if it is developed against ACT sides.

Roos has admitted as much. And our performance - possibly our season prospects - have suffered as a result. If we don't make the top 4 then this strategy of playing injured players has backfired big time.
