Yep, I noticed that. I guess where I was coming from is why is he only now just saying that? Although, come to think of it, Roos? timing is probably right on the mark.

We were playing great before Manuka. After that poor-ish performance, Roos probably asks his players how they?re feeling, proceeds to a wash-out against the Saints (it?s pretty hard to determine whether injury or weather or both affected performance), with the chickens coming home to roost on the weekend. Roos then accepts that cracks have surfaced through some injuries/wear & tear.

I'd expect to see at least three changes, none of which are performance driven (with the possible exception of Chambers) but all of which are purely to give some of the group a rest.
So, that said, I?d like to see:
    OUT:
    Matthews
    Crouch
Richards (I have faith in the guy, but give him some grounding in the ressies)

    IN
Vogels ? clear replacement for Richards. He played a few rounds early last year so it?s logical for Roos to continue his senior development. Can kick goals and mark ? jury is still out on Richards.
Moore ? like Vogels, he came in for a few rounds early last year. Roos brought him in to patch up a struggling midfield. He?s also packs some muscle, perfect in contests.
Dempster ? he?ll keep coming in and out for the rest of the year.

    ON HOLD:
Malceski ? should wait ?till the Crows game. Still injured.

    MAYBE:
    Chambers out.
    Either Doyle or Shaw in.

    WILD CARD
Schmidt ? I just don?t think Roos is going to play that card yet, particularly when he?s not yet finished establishing a role for Vogels and Moore.

He?ll bring back maybe two for the Crows, keeping one or two ?stand-out performers?, rotated for subsequent games as he rebuilds.

    Interesting times.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

I get the impression there is a bit of pannicking going on and I have no idea how Roosy thinks so I won't be guessing changes.I do however agree that Crouch has been carried this season,He's most probably carrying a few injuries and imo he is also carrying excess weight.Willo had a couple of cameos on Saturday night but he is clearly struggling with pace. It has been proven time and time again in footy that if you play injured blokes it will catch up on you.
However there is no way I will be writing the Swannies off at this stage.

For gods sake Roos fix it.
Given the numbers Collingwood were getting behind the ball (other teams do this too not just Sydney!!) the issue is not just the crumbers.

We seem to have gone backwards in the skills department over the last couple of weeks. Hall, O'Keefe, Schneider, Davis all missed very gettable shots at goal. Jude continues to miss targets badly (another pass to Hall inside 50 drops 5 meters short from a mark). Leo continues to give away frees for in the back. I could go on.

Looking back at the Saints game, we didn't play that badly overall. We just failed to make the key pass or take the key mark.

Whilst there should be a better way to ensure that those kids who deserve a run in the firsts get it on a more regular basis, I do not see the need to make personnel changes for the sake of change.

I would like to see some sort of 'rotational resting' done for some of the senior players. This could be done by looking at a plan of the season and looking at potential matchups and resting players where appropriate. This would allow new players the opportunity to play consecutive games without having to dislodge a 'particular' senior player.

More simply, its just a broader application of the normal rotations that you would use off the bench on match day.
We demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty.

Crouch has been nothing but ordinary at best all year! I would love to see Bevan take his place stuff his games streak record

I seriously cant believe that we are even mentioning Doyle, he is a unfit injury prone dead-weight, if we named him he would injure himself running through the banner

Matthews has to be easily the worst swan when it comes to hand-balling absolutely disgusting.

          I like to see:

          OUT: Crouch, Matthews, Richards.
          IN: Bevan, Moore, Vogels.

Bevan is ordinary. To use him as a replacement for Mathews is going from the fat into the fire. Agree Mathews must go but dont replace him with a player of equally questionable skills.

I am still reeling from the fact that we have 11 players who have not trained regularly yet keep getting a game. You would think there would be some sort of promotion/rotation system going on.

Arrogance, complacency or soft approach to premiership players, take your pick.

Surely by Round 14 all 2006 credits have been used up.
