    Giant Killers!

We have beaten the big giants in the past & surely can do it this weekend against the crows according to Paul Roos.

I'm pleased to report that Roosy does not actually refer to "big giants" in this article.

If Adelaide win this weekend they will go on to win the premiership.

Why can't they just leave us giants alone?

You have got a lot of premiership players still playing there from 1997 and 1998 and not a lot of real young players.
          "A lot"?

          Edwards, Goodwin, McLeod, Ricciuto. Four!

9 players are 24 or younger (similar to the Swans).

I havent really been following the Crows, but I saw ex-Swan Stevens playing against the Cats. Hows he going ? Is he one we should have kept ?

He's been going fairly well for them this year, although I get the feeling once the likes of Welsh, Bock and Perrie come back from injury, they will move McGregor back to CHB and that will leave Stevens out in the cold.

              I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

It's also worth noting that Stevens in now in his third year on the Crows list and it is only in the past month that he has put together consistent, valuable senior level football. Who knows whether he'll be able to sustain it, or - as Mike points out - whether he'll even be given the chance.

Players move on, some to fall into oblivion, others to achieve reasonable success at their new clubs. Good luck to them if they do, but I don't see that having kept Stevens on the Swans list for the past 3 years would have made any signficant improvement to where we are at the moment.

Although not playing, Hart is still on the list.

                  Edwards: Brownlow favourite most years
Goodwin: Probably leading it this year
McLeod: Runner up as many times as Buddha
                  Ricciuto: Medalist of 2003

                  NASTY STUFF!

Rutten is a mature age type, Clarke & Biglands experienced, Burton seems to be around forever, Welsh the same.

I reckon their dangerous guns are Mattner, Doughty, Bok, Joncock & McGregor (if he'd have kicked straight, the Cats would have got done by 140).

They are an awesome combination of older champions, developing champions, good mid range players and potential young stars. I expect them to be up in the top 8 and always a threat for many more years to come.
