I am not satisfied that Bevan is the real thing, or anywhere near it...reasonable passenger in a side doing well...but makes too many errors for my liking. I appreciate that he is not alone in that, & that Kirk (for one) is still playing is playing on a combination of heart & reputation.Comment

Surely at the moment he is holding down the position in the side that is normally held by Crouch and the difference between the two shows. Bevan might be of better use away from that role of taking the oppositions best small forward once Crouch comes back but with senior positions in the side already at a premium, one would think he is going to find it hard to keep his spot in the Best 22 once Crouch comes back. Same with Phillips when Davis comes back and Richards when Roos decides upon which ruckman out of Doyle or Chamber (hopefully Doyle) to bring back in. Other than that I really can't see many other changes to our side this season save for injuries.Once was, now elsewhereComment

There was a thread earlier in the week that linked to a Collingwood Post Site and one of the posters suggested that Bevan's concussion effort was one of the most courageous in memory.
Bevan gives his all every game. And the best thing about Bevo is that he seems in tune with this talent and knows his limitations and does his best to improve the team and he's happy with that.
Some could argue that Benny is just that, but with Benny's limitations these days, he still seems to think that his slowing of disposals is some form of team leadership and poise.
Bevo's got the right idea.Comment

It's amazing that we managed to win a premiership with so many crap and borderline players last year.
As for Bevan, he has been servicable since his comeback but had one to forget on Saturday night, but after the concusion the week before I will cut him some slack.
At this stage Crouch will probably take Bevan's spot on his return.

I don't know what part you atually disagree with.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Not everyone can be the silky skilled smooth running machine. Bevan is probably lucky to have a premiership medallion but has a right to be in or around senior selection. Remember Schneider had a tough couple of years after a great debut season til he found his role in the side, i think Bevan is a solid contributor that can play some important roles for the Swans in future.www.fuselive.com.auComment
