Janpa - what sort of imbecile are you (a pretty big one judging by your name)? You read a bit of gossip by an anti-AFL hack and automatically assume its true. Don't you think the club's coach and football department know what they are doing? You should take a good hard look at yourself and get a life. This club doesn't need supporters like you.

Keep the personal attacks out of it - thanks!

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Hey, hey, settle down. Don't let it get personal, please. Your post was way out of line. Argue about the issue, but there's no need to resort to abuse like that.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I stand by my comment that 2% of what you read in Sunday gossip columns is correct.

I could ring up said column now and claim to have seen Nick Davis at Maroubra KFC and they would run it.

Those Sunday columns are usually full of league rumours and gosip and they love nothing more than to stick the boot into the Swans when an opportunity exists.

I think its a long stretch to say players are playing poorly because they are out partying before a match. Given everything we are learning about the Bloods ethos, such a crime would not go unnoticed and be heavily punished.

I agree, and given that most AFL clubs experience players going out when they're not meant to, I'd be very surprised if the Swans didn't experience the same thing.

While the intangibles such as massages, recovery are important and part of team structure and team performance, I still wonder why a heavier premium is not put on actually hitting targets.

Working hard in matches and training should also be important, but what about the players who do this and still cost the team dearly in terms of their skills and decision-making shortcomings?
I still think that all these soft intangible things helped deliver us a flag, but they're not the reason for it. However, the club seems to have convinced itself otherwise.

They seem to have conveniently forgotten we were seconds away from a straight sets exit and another ignominious finals effort. Skill was the difference in that game.

Country Member - I think you are very rude person commenting about me as you did. The kind of member I am is one that puts hours into making banners on a Friday night,m voluntarily. One that is passionate with her support vocally when at the game - not a chardonnay sipper. One member who will stick up for my swans through thick and thin. Why I posted comments because obviously I am sticking up for Nick Davis and would like to see him back playing as soon as possible.

Don't need your comments thanks very much. I dont write on this for people like yourself to be rude.

Thank you for being so sarcastic. Think about what you wrote - you have no idea how good a supporter and fan I am of the Swans.
              Love those Swans

Janpa - you sound like a nice person and I apologise if i hurt your feelings. However, please think before you post: swallowing unsubstantiated gossip hook, line and sinker and running with it is not the way to support a club.

P.S. The cheersquad is terrific and I agree that we're all over chardonnay.

Country member - what a turn around - and I dont run with gossip - check other comments by others.
What has cheer squad got to do with me?

I help out independently of the cheer squad because there is not enough helpers. I also help hold up the banner - because not enough are interested.

I am certainly interested and supporter of the whole of the Swans.

Janpa well done!!! I really admire those that are selfless and help their club in any way they can.

Bye the way don't feel obliged to have to explain yourself to people who seem to fly off the handle inexplicably.

                    Well done again.

I have no knowledge of who it was (out late), but I think Peter Fitz is pretty fair and not a gossip head - eg

                      1) He is not a Sunday writer but in the paper ever day.

                      2) He was sticking up for Nick!

                      3) He has said plenty of good things re Swans over last 12 months.

So they were necessary but not sufficient?

Surely it makes sense to control what one can control, and nurture and develop what one can nuture and develop?

Excuse me for sounding like NMW but you really are an idiot for taking a comment like that in a tabloid and raising it on here as fact. You have zero evidence. Get some common sense.

It was NOT in Peter Fitzsimmons column. Go back and read the Sun Herald.

Out of curiosity, was it the night of the 25th Anniversary that the alleged early morning got well used by un-named player?
