In the "modern game", of which Roos is so fond of speaking, kicking goals is less important than being able to run. A lot of us, according to dear Paul, don't understand the modern game, so we don't understand that basic principle.

In order to succeed in the modern game, you must be able to run. Kicking is a negligible skill.

So how to assess Fraser Gherig's performance this afternoon? It is a conundrum.

ROk! How could you even ask! Its obvious that the most important thing is that you show up to massages and fill in your training forms. Doesn't matter if you can't take an uncontested mark in the goal square, or refuse to pass off the ball to someone in a better position.

We are just pathetic in front of goal.

Magic 'should' have sloted it through from where he was & that miss from Hall running in was a disgrace, if we wanna be a big threat come september then we need to be able to kick straight & make it count on the scoreboard.
Forget about Hall, it's all about Bradshaw

That's twice in a month from O'Loughlin from the goal square. He should be sent to the ACTAFL to work on his accuracy.

Our misses may not cost us this match but they will cost us finals.

                  agreed.

Magic needs to be able to kick those, his form in front of goal has been shocking this season & what about his kicking in the GF.

I think he just can't kick.

Thomas clearly doesn't understand the principles of the modern game. He's a pleb like the rest of us. No wonder we won the preliminary final.

You wrote an honours thesis on the history of the game. Sounds like there is a masters in the modern game. Perhaps it is the post-modern game?

Is the post-modern game when the game uses the game to make a mockery of the game?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

                            We're masters of that already.
