I think Nick has served his sentence and should be back this week. MOL in my opinion shouldnt be dropped from the team, but maybe starting him from the bench could send the message that others here thinks he needs to hear. As far as the GF last year, didn't someone come out from the club and say that he (MOL) was struggling badly for the last few games of the year with his knees? and didn't Roos say he should be thanked for helping his team during this time (even though he had a shocker in the GF).

I want to know what has happened to the Bread Man (Vogels)? I thought he has played alright with the limited senior games he has had this year.

Nick was dropped for not being fit. He just exacerbated (sp?) it when he ran to the media. He's still unfit, and probably won't be playing in the seniors until he satisfies Roos and the fitness team.

And what did happen to Vogels? How come his name isn't being thrown about for selection?

When you say he had a shocker in the GF what do you mean?

Yes he didn't kick well, but his last quarter when he out marked Chick on numerous occasions under pressure (and thus stopping the Eagles who were threatening to run us off our legs from haf back) went along way towards us winning the GF.

Sometimes it aint always about how many goals you can kick. Would have been great to see Micky slot through a couple in the last to make it a bit easier towards the end, but IMHO his overhead work was outstanding and a valuable contribution to the team getting over the line.

This maybe a bit harsh, but am I right in saying that Vogels blew up over at Subi a couple of weeks ago and on a number of occasions he wasn't able to chase as hard the coaching staff may have wanted him to.

Certainly the channel 10 commentary team mentioned twice in the last quarter that Vogels was having trouble sucking in the air after a couple of chases. Same thing happened at Subi in the final last year as well and he was dropped.

Maybe the coaching team are not entirely convinced he has the engine to run out a full game the way they want him to.

But hey that is just an odservation.

yea sorry I was not very clear. I thought that MOL played pretty well in the GF, but obviously his kicking at goal was poor (but we found out latter it was due to a serious knee injury). The only thing that I thought he did not do well, was passing off to others latter in the game, when he knew he was struggling to kick for anything over 25 meters.

It is easy to look back over games and pick people apart, but I am happy to acknowledge that every player in the GF gave 110% (even if they didnt have their best game of the season) and that is all you can ask from a player and team. Anyhow, Magic seems to be doing more work off the ball and getting involved down the ground more this year, so he is playing a bigger role in the team in my opinion.

Also has there been any word on Davis' success on his jockey diet of brown rice and steamed veges?

LOL, on what form are you gonna "Pick Nick"? Didn't play, yep, he's back in form.

Looking forward to seeing McVeigh v McVeigh this weekend.

I wonder why when he gets dragged around the country all the time when they have no intention of playing him.
Perhaps they should rotate travelling emg players for this reason.

As much as i'd like to see him back Nick will not get a game this weekend becase of the ressies not playing on the weekend.

M'Ol is one of the least confident forwards in the league. If it is outside thirty the eyes dart everywhere but straight at the goals. He is a forward and this is not good enough. He is the person i would least like to have a kick at the goals after the siren. (Our verson of Port's Motlop???)

On the flipside, Davis is perhaps my most preferred option for an after the siren kick. I still believe that an unfit Davis is more valuable than an out of form M'Ol or Matthews.
