THE axing of Swans finals hero Nick Davis was just the wake-up call the whole team needed, according to the exciting young Sydney forward Adam Schneider

Saying that it was a wake up call for the rest of the team doesnt mean the same thing as saying that Davis was a scapegoat. Nicely twisted Mr Lobster - Rupert might offer you a job.Last edited by cruiser; 9 August 2006, 01:56 PM.Occupational hazards:

I got a bit annoyed with the use of the term scapegoat. It just had me thinking "here we go again".Comment

When you are over weight and not putting in the on the track and the rest of the team are at least busting a gut to improve their form, who are you going to drop to send a message?
Not a scapegoat, just made himself a very large target which was further inflamed when he went on record with the Tele.

i agree with cruiser. schneids wasnt saying davis was the scapegoat. he was saying that davo's dropping was the spurring on the group needed. it showed everyone that if you break team rules or you're not playing up to standard then you're going to pay the price for it (eg. chambers, matthews, richards as well as davis).
now if you start saying kirk should've been dropped for apparent poor form, or you think he was wrong for coming out and saying whatever he said about davis (i dont remember what he said) then you should remember that kirk is the "co" captain of this team, he is the heart and soul of the bloods. when was the last time a captain was dropped? the swans need kirk's leadership on the field- barry leads with his performances, kirk leads with his spirit and talk and leo leads with... you know... the memories of the mark he took. i'm not exactly sure if people criticised kirky on RWO for criticising nick, but if they did i think its out of order. the captain is there to tell the others how to act. if the captain doesnt talk then who will?
i also think roosy has been great this year considering how many young players he has blooded. we have the second youngest playing list in the afl and it has put us in good stead for the futureComment

So far this season we have had Mathews, Richards, Vogels, Davis, Crouch, Philips and Chambers dropped because they did not have form or a matchup. Davis is not alone, but he has acted like it.Our Greatest Moment:
