Crouch was dropped because of injury.

Mathews has been out for all but one week because of injury.

The rest of them combined have played far less games that Davis has. They're not senior players who have shown they can earn a spot, so they're hardly comparable to Davis.

All I take from that article, and from looking back over the results since the Davis controversy began, is that right or wrong the team has benefitted from the brouhaha.

We've dominated the teams we should have. And went seconds from one the upsets of the year against WC.

Thinking back on it all now, if we'd beaten the Coasters I wonder if the outcry would have reached the same fever pitch?

Can't wait to see Davis running rampant on his return!!

i agree with cruiser. schneids wasnt saying davis was the scapegoat. he was saying that davo's dropping was the spurring on the group needed. it showed everyone that if you break team rules or you're not playing up to standard then you're going to pay the price for it (eg. chambers, matthews, richards as well as davis).

Davis being sent to Canberra is a different situation to Chambers/Mathews/Richards being sent there. Schneider has stated that it was Davis being sent there that caused the players to pay attention, not the others, so clearly the playing group views it as different.

Maybe the out of form players are being dropped in numerical order.
