Just 10 months after Sydney won a premiership that was widely seen to be the product of hard work, discipline and leadership, one poll - quite possibly flawed - even suggested more Swans fans backed Davis than Roos on the issue of the forward's demotion.

That not only shows how fickle and short-sighted fans - of any sport and club - can be. It also means that the "Bloods" culture that was credited with so much of the Swans' success last year is either underappreciated or misunderstood.

I guess he is bitter that RWO poke fun at the incorrect captions, misquotes and website swipes that his rag prints daily.

Interestingly enough (a quote, so no credit to Hinds and it is quite possibly a misquote):

So whether Davis was dumped, as Roos insists, because of form and fitness, or whether there were off-field issues, there is a good reason why such a talented player has not been given the latitude that other, less talented players might have been. In the eyes of the Bloods, he simply hasn't earned it.

i. He has earnt it. he kicked 4 goals in the final against Geelong last year in one of the game's great INDIVIDUAL performances.

ii. Does this mean that if Philips rocked up to training eating KFC and then failed to go to the massage session and didn't fill out his recovery sheet, it would be okay, because he is LESS talented than Nick Davis?

iii. Or, is he talking about latitude of on-field performances. Yeah, Ben Mathews got plenty of latitude - he mostly kicks it sideways. Not much latitude given to Spriggs of late, perhaps he hasn't earnt it either.

iv. the poll on who was right - Roos or Davis, was not 'possibly' flawed. It was an unsampled self selection question asked on a popular fan bulletin board. I am suprised he even cited it.

Whatever the virtues of this Richard Hinds knob, logic and a commitment to quality journalism are not amongst them.

I don't see how the title of the piece aligns with the actual content. The title suggests the article will discuss why Davis has yet to win his spot/favour with Roos and the leadership group back (possibly written prior to him being named as an Emergency?), yet it only discusses the well worn issue of him being dropped in the first place. Perhaps the story is that far behind the times that they have opted for a current sounding title to not sound like slow hacks?

Although i think the Bloods ethos is fantastic and all that, i think at certain points last year it was overrated.

In the Semi, it wasn't the Bloods ethos that got them home, it was some pieces of individual brilliance. The cats were just as hard and tough as us in that game, it was a tough, horrid game of footy with a fantastic ending.

In the Prelim, there it got us home. Those images of a beaten and bloodied Kirky rallying the troops at 3/4 time will remain with me forever. We were outplayed for the 2nd and half the 3rd quarters, and we rallied, they showed fight and blew the Saints off the park.

My post has nothing to do with Nick Davis getting back into the team or anything. Its all got to do with this article that this tool has written.

As a Swans fan for quite a number of years (although nowhere near as many as some), like most on here, i know what its like for our side to get bundled out with little fuss year after year.

The whole notion that it was the Bloods ethos that won us the premiership, its just crap. We all understand it and appreciate it, but we aren't blind to the fact that this team code wouldn't have got us the premiership alone, it needed some help, and thats why there is disagreement in the ranks about if and when he should come back and whether he should have been dropped at all.

Easily one of the worst articles i've read this year, lacking depth and understanding of where the subjects of part of the story are coming from.

So if you check this site, and obviously someone from their paper does, get a clue you @@@@.

I find it interesting that the Bloods culture is also partly founded on a lie:

As for Davis, it seems that Roos isn't as swayed by the public as the board most surely was by that stupid SSI, which is a shame really. Since SSI most definately got Roos the captaincy and they allowed him to win a flag for the club and us all, maybe they should intervene and demand Davis back.

Roos clearly owes them.

What the hell happened to them anyway?
I feel for the suckers who contributed financially to that bunch of tossers....

Choose Roos have now reinvented themselves as Pick Nick which is funny. I agree with Hinds too. Anyone interested in having a separate forum for non-Nick apologists ? Doesn't appear there will be many of us on there, but at least we can chat about things like footy and the upcoming finals and totally unrelated stuff like that.
