i reckon grundy will make way for davis. but only for team balance
grundy is a forward, davis is a forward. but im saying that only if fossie doesnt come up- if fossie doesnt play then davo will come in for him. but personally i reckon fossie will play and grundy will be out for nick.Comment

I see no reason at all for Nick to come back into the side EXCEPT to prep him for the finals and see if his fitness is back up to par. There really is no current player deserving of a demotion based on the last four games.
As for the forward line, it has only been accuracy that has hurt us. We have still taken plenty of marks and our forward defensive pressure has been superb. The million dollar question is whether Nick can improve our accuracy whilst maintaining the defensive pressure. These two areas are critical for when we finally play WC and/or Adelaide in the finals, and to be honest Nick has a tendency to not chase hard enough. Our Greatest Moment:

O'Keefe 35/19 = 1.84 tackles per game
O'Loughlin 27/19 = 1.42 tackles per game
Grundy 4/4 = 1.00 tackles per game
Phillips 4/6 = 0.67 tackles per game
He chases harder and more effectively than the haters want to believe.Comment

The coaching panel wants to see Nick push up the field hard to help out with zoning and then they want to see him work back hard (like O'Keefe) to create space and opportunities. You can't do this if you are standing with your hands on your hips blowing hard from all the running.
Even Goodes says that a simple loss of 2kg's has helped him get to more contests.
You don't have to be blind freddy to see that Davis was carrying extra weight which was not helping him with the way the coaching staff want our half forward line to play.

Schneiderman claimed that Nick doesn't chase enough. If this is true, either his tackles are remarkably laid as people run past him (an astounding feat of correctly reading the play as you claim) or the other forwards chase ineffectively, trotting behind their man and watching on.Last edited by Sanecow; 17 August 2006, 05:46 PM.Comment
