    Roos value vs ROK's

So Roos is not worth our trust...he has us where we were last season..and playing at least as well!!
Of course ROK has his conspiracy theories rolling along as well as ever..and as boringly predictable as ever..lol..tedious and predictable!
I just hope the last Sat in Sept will make ROK eat his words as he had to in 05...saying he is playing devil's advocate doesn't cut it!! ROK is a MUG!

The thing I would dispute here is playing as well. IIRC, that was the call earlier this year until a few hot teams came onto the agenda. Finals will tell all. In the past 5 weeks or so the only really good team has been WC as Melbourne's structure was badly affected by injury, and even the Eagles were struggling at that stage. But the scribes were saying before the mid-season slump that the team was better than at the corresponding time, or a better team period. That assertion looked a little wobbly against the Crows, and even the Pies. Goodes seems to be in career best form though.

I thought that earlier in the year we looked better than last year as our forward line was working well and we were kicking goals.

We fell apart badly in the middle of the season however, and although we have improved, our forward line structure remains suspect.

As I commented in the middle of the slump, we were still a good shot of going top four, which we are now well on the way to doing so. However, we are not playing as well as last year IMO. We are playing better than 2004 and prior, but I think last year was the barest minimum level needed to win the flag and this year the level will be higher. So we still need to improve a fair bit.

You are joking, I hope. I have never said that I do not want Roos to coach. I have gone to lengths to say that I do not think that it is a conspiracy theory. I have said that I do not like Roos, that he is arrogant, and that I am not impressed with the way he has handled the Davis situation. I said similar things last year, and very few agreed. I have said them again, and more agree. So what? I did not eat any words last year. I said similar things. Early this year, when things were not looking so good I said a number of times that I would be worried, but for Roos. That I thought he was calaculated in his approach and that things would turn around. I do not play Deveil's Advocate simply for the sake of it. My opinions are genuine. I may present them in a way that is at times slightly inflammatory but FFS, without the stirring this place gets from the cow and me, without the hammering Bloods takes day after day, and stella's elegant humour, this place would be about as exciting as Ando world over on BigFooty.

Since Davis was dropped, and all the spirit of the bloods bollocks began to seep from the Swans media department, I have increasingly lost interest in the club, and the code as well. Part of the reason I am going to Manuka on Sat is to try and get some interest back, watch the young blokes making mistakes, going in hard, listen to the sledging, and the coach at qtr time. People talk of the Crowbots - except for Leo's hi-jinks the Swans are a pretty dour team to watch. Christ, much of the excitement of watching LRT with it has even gone. Quite simply, that is how I feel. It is my opinion. If expressing here makes you uncomfortable, or somehow challenges your sense of self worth, so be it. I wont stop posting. I don't care if you feel the same way as me or not, but while ever RWO is a forum for people with opinions related to the Swans I will post my opinions. I wont whinge when people have a go at them, and when I can be bothered I will defend what I have had to say.

I like the drama of football. I would prefer a dramatic loss than a dour win. I have been succesful enough in my life (in my own dour and comfortable way) not to need to gain some sense of vicarious achievement through the club. Sport, when played with flair and passion, provides the greatest drama, superior to the movies, all but the best theatre, and much of what I read these days. That's what I want from my Saturday afternoons. Roos does not deliver that.

            2) flaming/abusive threads - If you have to have a go at someone personally, take it off the board. Everyone else doesn't need to see your hissy fits. Remember, "Play the ball, not the man". If you don't like a post, please don't flame back - it makes our job of moderation much harder. Just report the post to a moderator and let us handle it.

                Very nicely put Ollie!

I don't always agree with ROK, but then I'm sure the opposite is true as well.

                  Hear bloody hear!

This Board is full of sober, hang-wringing, strung-up types. Earlier this year, on another topic, ROK and I had a good ol' sledge at each other - but it involved an argument of ideas and standards.

Neither of us, however, referred to the other as kiddie fiddlers, wifebashers or any other gratuitously personal insult - and yet we got told to take it offline!

So, what, you can't post an original opinion on here without being painted as a disloyal goose? Seems so.

I'm not here to suck up to Roos, the club or any other poster.

I'm here to entertain myself and express myself.

Quelle surprise! The two "Roy Boys" still love their favourite son. Knock me down with a feather.

Again I say to the trolls and stalkers: If you'd rather make personal attacks than back your ridiculous claims, that's fine, it reflects on you.

PS: Any Roy Boy worth their salt would still be following the Lions.

I have a few friends that do just that. One got a tattoo for each premiership a few years ago. One on each ankle for the first 2, but I never asked where he got the third one.

Royboys - nice work, sums up what most reasonable supporters think about the Nick situation, and particularly correct concerning ROK (you can add sanecow to that list).
ROK - if the Swans are stuffing up your weekend, take a hike and stop whinging. Maybe, just maybe, your personal agenda is not at the top of the "lets have a go for the flag" list.

There's a simple solution guys. Report posts such as the one above. The mods will deal with it.

I'll handle this one in particular......

                            Well said Lobster.

I agree this place would be pretty boring if everyone agreed with what Roos was with the team.

Personally I prefer attacking football as well and would prefer us to play more direct - but a win is a win and if those wins happen to come in September then I will be happy.

Agreed but unfortunately most professional sport these days is treated as a business. I like the drama and emotion that comes with the highs and lows of the game as it refelcts life, which would be very dull and boring if there were no peaks and troughs.
BTW RB42 do you actually know what Roos' values are?
