I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Not sure of the score, but obviously Davo has heard how the seniors are going. Nicky D now with 4.1 in the 2nd quarter.

Those updates wouldn't be coming from the Lobster by any chance, would they?

I don't know -what- you're talking about

Davis dominant
Mathews okay in the 2nd quarter
Spriggs, Willoughby and Phillips good
Vogels and Schmidt quiet

Davo would be far more useful in Geelong right now

So the new refrain will be Davis was too hungry and not team oriented enough.
How can we possibly fit him in the seniors when our abilty to kick goals is so good and our disposal is such high quality...
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."

Selfish...
My Pokemon brings all the boys to the yard and they're like "Wanna trade cards?"
"Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I can beat you, I've got Charizard!"
Goals: Davis 7 (4 behinds, laid off another 2 - though a couple of his were gifts from Spriggs) Eriksen 3 Willoughby 3 Earl Shaw 2 Phillips 2 Rowe, Prior, Schmidt, Simpkin, Thornton, Chambers 1 each. + there were 2 I missed, the first goal I did not see, and one I just did not write down (it may have been Rowe). Davis was excellent and ran as hard as anyone. His first qtr seemed to be to run 2 kicks in front of play. I'd say he only had 3 possies 'til qtr time. He took them apart in the second, and looked great running through the centre square in the second half. Spriggs must be close to in our best 22 and edged out Mathews I thought today - though Mathews is clearly a class above the ACTFL. Josh Willougby was another standout and Thornton and Simpkin were impressive, as were Prior and Brazabon (who seemed to break a finger). Simon Phillips kicked an absolute ripper of a goal and having watched him today I can see why he got a seniors run. Probably has as much footy smarts as any at the club and when he bulks up a bit could become a handy player. Benny Mathews swear at the players a lot and 'demanded' a lot of the ball. It was good to see Davo line 3 kids up at one stage, give them all directions, and pat them on the bum when it was time for them to lead off. Was like watching the Auskick coach at half time.
Best (in no real order): Spriggs, Davis, Mathews, Thornton, Willougby, Simpkin. To be honest though, the backs hardly saw it after qtr time and no one from either side was particularly interested after half time.
