I'd say from the results in Canberra and Geelong today, Davis and Mathews will come in (and hopefully Spriggs too). So who is out?
Mathews and Davis in - who's out.

IN: Davis and Matthews
Out: Dempster and Bevan
Sean and Paul were pretty awful today. I don't think they can cement a spot for next weeks match against the Lions. Davis proved his point, he's in!Kirky is everything you want in a Captain

Bevan, well we can substitute him for the chook in the raffle. As a matter of fact the tickets are free.Comment

Mathews definitely needs 1 more match to build up match fitness. Davis will come in and Schneider can fill in the small defender's role.Comment

Problem with Paul Bevan is that as much as we all would like to drop him for poor form and being useless, the sad fact remains he is in the side to do a certain job as long as Crouch is out of the side with whatever the injury he has.
So unless we want to bring Mathews in as the small defender to play on the small forwards (a position Mathews just isn't suited to) then Bevan just isn't axable. Richards for Davis would be the best option for a one player switch for the Brisbane match and that's all I would go with for now. Mathews wouldn't bring anything extra to the table that side already has, but if Roos just HAD to bring him in like we know he just wants then it looks like Dempster would be the unlucky one (but lets hope that doesn't come to pass).
Only other change save for Davis and Mathews coming in would be to get rid of Bevan when Crouch is fit again (whenever that may be, soon one can only pray)Once was, now elsewhereComment

the moment bevan was steaming into the forward 50 with the ball and handpassed to an opponent so that he could tackle him, showed quite clear;y where his head is at. as per mathews, picking a majority of negating midfield players these days is now old school. we lost to geelong today because they attacked, we defended and sheer weight of numbers proved that the game has changed from last year.
the only time we have looked good all year is when we relentlessly attack.
4 goals down, last quarter, forward line well held, needing a spark - who was there for the swans? not bevan, not dempster.....

I loved the time when Bevan was streaming off half back, completely in the clear, Hall was running to the wing, well in front of Scarlett, and Bevan put it out on the full! Quality!!Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I think they are trying to use Bevan as a tagger or a lock-down player, if you like, but the opposition coaches know he's a liability so they focus on him more often to provide them with the turn overs. I watched him playing prelim last year against the Saints and never understood how could he have got into the side at all. Well, as they say, the coaches must see some value in him, because I don't.Comment
