He also felt Skilled Stadium contributed to the loss.
"I must admit, as a coach, I was surprised when I got down there how narrow it was," Roos recalled.
"I don't know when they redeveloped it whether they brought the wings in as there wasn't any wings at all.
"That probably also had an affect on the players. I think it was a combination of things but the main focus for us now is next week."
Don't they watch videos of opponents' recent matches?
"As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk
So the narrow ground made us miss easy tackles and cause terrible skill errors.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

That had to be said with his tongue firmly in his cheek didn't it. My guess is that it is some internal joke. Otherwise it borders on coaching negligence.
Gee Roosey must be losing his memory. Wonder how many of his 300 odd games he played down there. Nothing has changed as far as I am concerned.
Yep it is an oval without the roundness at the side, bit like a square with the corners rounded off. But it has always been like that.
If it has no wings why go where there aint none, instead of straight up the guts.
Reminds me of the telegram to the groom at a wedding reception. Goes like this "treat your wedding night like a game of direct footy, don't play around the flanks go straight up the middle".
That straight boundary that goes between the 2 50 metre arcs should have at least given Bevo a guide as to where to kick when BBH lead up. Instead he picked out Steve Bracks in the crowd.

I assume that Roos' approach to the media is 90% cliche and 10% take the pss!
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."
Davis stands alone 20 meters out from goal waving his hands and the midfield kick it to Bazza in a pack in the pocket... don't they know Bazza can't mark. Hmmmm. So it's form that sees Davo exiled in the 2s still...I think not. On that reasoning half Saturday's team should be in Canberra next week...Bazza on a lead, why not kick it 15 feet over his head? Tadhg should definitely have a rest in the Magoos for a week or two -- at least two goals and 1 point directly attributed to his stuff-ups. Bazza at his most St Kilda-like uselessness. St Nick would in all probability not have won that game for us, but he would have put a litle doubt into the Geelong defenders of what he was up to. If i were Roosy I'd even have put Spriggs and Chambers in, with a quiet word in their shelllike about their future at the club and how it depended on how they played. (no, just kidding, about Chambers anyway).
The thug Neitz showed on Sunday what CAN happen when someone stands up to be counted...where was that person in our team on Saturday? Oh that's right, he was playing in the twos in Canberra...
But hey, we CAN still win it from 5th...

"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

LOL - what's stopping you!!
This is my point and frustration with Roos and the "leadership group" at the moment. Roos is the @@@@ing coach, he should be the one to choose the team. Not the leadership team.
Come on Roosy, you want him in the team, you pick him, earn your money and make the hard decisions bugger the leadership group.
We all know how Roos hates to change the team after a win. It has never mattered how badly someone plays as long as the team is winning. It is fairly unlikely that someone will be dropped in this situation.
Does our loss to Geelong on the weekend now give Roos an excuse to make at least 1 change to the team? I think it does, and Nick will finally be recalled. What do others think?
