Just on Hall's injury and varying disaster recovery plans, I was suprised that Ryan wasn't dropped back to run off HF more last night; even when Hall was on he was sitting a lot deeper than normal.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

If Hall is carrying this back related injury. He needs a rest, Nick Davis can go in for Hall.

Woo, it was documented a month ago:

Speaking at a recovery session at Mahon Pool on Friday, Hall said he has been suffering a back-related hamstring and sciatic nerve injury, but he added that the break during the split round 12 had helped him battle the problem.

"The good thing was I could play with it and you get through a week at a time and you have a week to recover, so it has certainly got a lot better. The break came at a good time," Hall said.

"The week before the break it was pretty bad and looking back I probably shouldn't have played (against St Kilda), but I got through it, had the week's break and got through Collingwood, so I've had another week to recover and it is looking pretty good."

Hall said the injury had forced him to modify his training program.

But there's been no talk of it officially since. Since RWO posters (well, maybe just one) maintain that no Swans players are currently playing injured, I think it's interesting to compare notes on Hall's kicking (his accuracy is down), running (not seeming to cover as much ground recently IMHO) and other indicators of injury (grabbing at his back, limping, getting towelled up).

Time just flies by doesn't it? That report is actually 2 months old.

                    Latest news for giant.

Hall appeared to be bothered by a back complaint after sustaining a knock from behind in the first quarter of Saturday night's contest against Brisbane.

The team doctor Nathan Gibbs ran out to chat with the two-time All-Australian and he played out the game, though didn't make much of an impression as he was well held by Daniel Merrett.

But, in the fourth quarter Hall was taken off and watched on as the Swans posted four goals in five minutes.

Gibbs said Hall jarred his back or hyper-extended in the incident and will look at vision on Monday to determine the best cause of action but believes he'll more than likely play against Carlton at the SCG on Sunday.

I was a bit worried about Hall myself since Merritt/Merrick (?) had a good night on him and no harm to the young fella, he should have been out of his depth. He seemed to compete well with Hally in upper body strength. He's a big lad, but Hall's more mature, battle-worn body should have given him the edge in the contest. Especially since he has beaten Malmichael for strength and several others routinely. This makes me think the big man needs a rest for sure!!!
