If the Swans get bundled out in the AFL finals prior to the AFL Canberra finals would you get Nick Davis, Stephen Doyle and any other current senior players who are eligible to play in the remaining AFL Canberra finals? What are the AFL Canberra rules around this? If you were playing for Belconnen and came up against, say, a midfield that had Stephen Doyle tapping it to Nick Davis, both straight from an AFL finals performance the week before, would you feel a little annoyed? Would it be good for the AFL Canberra competition or would it just continue to highlight the uncompetitive joke that the Swans are making of it?

Don't know about the rules, but I reckon it would make even more of a joke of the whole thing. We need a comp for our resies to play in, but I just don't think any of those other sides get anything from being destroyed by them every single time.Ar aghaidh chun bua 2007! -
I think they would want to reward the younger players who've played the majority of the season. If perhaps a spot of two opens up via injuries that would usually have gone to a top-up player, they might inject one or two seniors. (Doyle being the exception, I don't think they'd risk him)Comment

Surely the rules would be like most - x amount of games (usually around 8-10 at the least isn't it?)Comment

I would have thought it would have been a bit less than that say maybe 6 games? Just for the sake if a palyer gets a serious injury they'd struggle to play 10 games."Red and White for blood cells, Red and White for wine."

And whilst the Canberra teams do get destroyed, its usually the 2nd half that is the blow out. They are often quite competative up until half time. The fitness, skill, and class of our PROFESSIONAL reserves players always outperfoms the AMATEUR players in the Canberra teams. You have to remember, the canberran are just normal guys with normal jobs, they dont live and breath football like our guys, and they certianly dont have the facitities, coaching, and medical staff that are available to our guys.
Playing in the ACTAFL also gives out guys the chance to travel and play true "away" games.
Whilst its certainly not ideal, its the best comp that is available to us.If the siren sounds in Tasmania, and the umpires don't hear it, does it make a sound?Comment

Short Memory
It seems a few people have a short memory about the ressies. Yes they have been undefeated the last two seasons which is great. In case you have forgotten the swans ressies have been in the ACTAFL for 3 previous seasons. they have won 1 premiership (last season by 17 points) and finished 3rd twice. the last two seasons swans have had the least injuries of any AFL side, therefore strengthening the reserves. it wont last forever.Comment
