    Ta for that, Troy.

So with Chambers gone, little Willo serving another week, Moore, Crouch and Brabazon out for the year, and 25 players in Perth (apparently Grundy, Phillips and Spriggs), the Reserves have 15 players to choose from, or 16 if Matt Davis finally passes that damn test he seems to keep flunking. Been a while since Sydney had to pick top-ups in its first 18, if indeed it's done it all year.

If only Centrebet took bets on the ACTAFL. You could get great value on Sydney losing their first game of the year in the 2nd semi final. Their risk of getting rolled here seems higher than in any other game this year.

Will Crouch be coaching again as the others are busy on the other side of the continent?

ROK will you be the reporter on the scene again?

In which case they shouldn't have had him in the square in the second half. Leaving that aside, I've now seen him in two games and he definitely looks comfortable in the 2's.

Seeing that it's going to be 16 degrees in Sydney on the w/e, it's a pretty safe bet that it will be time for sunglasses, zinc cream and roll out the "it's only a matter of time before a footballer dies in this heat" cliche, down in Canberra.

In other news to hand, the claim by one poster who won't remain nameless (swans song) that Spriggs went to Perth has proved to be a complete freakin' lie. Note picture of Spriggs at awards night in Canberra, and statement, "Spriggs will be in action at Manuka tomorrow".

I just don't know who to trust any more.

              Probably confused him with Schneider.

Belconnen may just cause an upset. They were outplaying the young Swannies for 1.5 quarters 2 weeks ago before the fitness difference kicked in.

With 3 players travelling in addition to the 22 to Perth, plus Willoughby's suspension, Moore and Brabazon's injury, Chambers's disappearance and suddenly we're very short on numbers.

From my count, there's only 16 available players:

                Spriggs
                Ericksen
                Laidlaw
                Thornton
                Simpkin
                Wall
                Schmidt
                Vogels
                Currie
                Barlow
                Garrubba
                M.Davis (?)
                Shaw
                Rowe

                  Forecast for Saturday
Cloudy with showers and the chance of a thunderstorm with possible small hail. Cold with moderate to fresh southeast winds.

                  Precis: Showers, windy.
                  City: Min 2 Max 12

Which means I'm a good chance to go. Not a nice day to spend in the yard at all.

Jason Ball is coaching the Reserves this week

Grundy and Phillips to fly back - Bevan to stay in WA as emergency

That's a whole lot of fairly pointless frequent flyer miles (and hours in the air) for Phillips and Grundy.

Still, if they turn up moderately fresh and ready to play, I'll retract my earlier prediction and say: Swans by 'only' 7 or 8 goals, the game more or less line ball until mid-late 3rd quarter before Sydney finally do their traditional running-over-the-top-of-them act.

It also seems like Matt Davis finally passed that troublesome test on about the 3rd try! Crouchie probably slipped him the answers on the sly.

                        The forecast just gets better...

                        Forecast for Saturday
