Crouch did not get the kudos he deserved for his game in the GF. He set up a brilliant goal in the first quarter and did great stuff all day. If the media did not hyper-ventilate every time Judd went near the ball Crouch would have been more highly rated. I have re-watched the GF several, nay numerous, times and 95% of Judd's "possessions" were ineffective. Crouch set up at least two goals that I can think of.
Oh well no point bleating - its history now.

It is rubbish, or at least a little exagerated, I counted them and the percentage that either went directly to us or our advantage was somewhere between 40 and 50%.

"Ineffective possessions" IMO also includes the 20%-30% of his disposals that went to a 50/50 or space metres in front of a contest.

That would bump up the percentage a bit then.

I'm a completely objective and unbiased, one-eyed swans supporter.
Every other player on every other team is crap.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

There are many people who believe that Judd was not BOG in the GF. However, I'd rather our players have premiership medallions rather than Judd's consolation prize.

Have not read all posts...but nothing on this page addresses the issue.
What do we have to do to win?
Turn up...in the "ready to play sense".
Get the ball at the clearances...easier said than done...but Jolly / Doyle will give us a chance
Even if we do...many of the clearances will be Kirk / B1 specials (i.e. mongrel / round the corner stuff) & our forwards will need to play very well....clean with the (often mongrel) ball...low error rate.
Hall & Goodes to be exceptional.
LRT & B2 to be everywhere on the backline at the same time.

I didn't say that, although someone else did. We had this discussion after the GF, so I went back and counted the possessions. His stats didnt look so good then.

Judd had very little impact on the game...

Most of his possesions were in the first half when matchup up to ablett...the serial pest smashed him after half time.

If you remember, the weagles were 20 points down at half time. My lasting image from Judds game was when Judd came out of the pack next to the goal square after breaking a schneiderman tackle, and when he got into space he shanked the kick to noone.

If anyone from the weagles deserved the norm smith it was embley. He got them back into the contest.

judd was good in the 1st half and then did @@@@ all after half time

what didnt help our cause for the norm smith was that no one really stood out over 4 quarters or even 3

but in saying all this i dont think judd's performance warranted a norm smith in a losing side - if he was so good he would have won them the game

buchanan for me - he was bloody awesome in the last quarter and IMO we would have been runners up without him
