Long Weekend Accom. in Melb

Warning folks ... if you're thinking of travelling to Melbourne for the GF, (we're going, whether the Swannies go or not!!) accommodation is pretty scarce.
It took me four days to find and secure somewhere to stay.
There are lots of people from SA & WA looking as well.

AFAIK it's not a long week end anywhere.

Grand Final weekend in Melboure has always been bigger than any long weekend, especially when it comes to accommodation.

No, Bathurst hasn't been on the long weekend for years (Damn you Cochrane!), it's on the week after.

Which means there may be a lot of cancellations after the PF's are completed.

I reckon people should just wait until after PF's. A lot of people are booking now in anticipation for their club to make it through, because it is easy to book it and there's no penalty for cancelling it, hence the problems to find an accomodation in Melb during that period.

A lot of people go to melbourne for the GF anyway ... we go to the Budgies (Weagles) breakfast (if they aren't playing in the final ... I get two free tickets ... how lucky am I??).
It's such a noicer and more meaningful trip when your team are playing (and winning I might add).
