His confidence looks shot. Nearly every time he touches the ball he still does something constructive with it, but he's lost his flair. He's been broken. What a waste.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Have you ever seen him kick a helicopter like that final kick tonight? What a difference a year makes, there is no way he could do what he did against Geelong 12 months ago now - let's hope he does not have to.

What kind of role was he playing anyway? He spent zilch time in the forward 50. Half back flanker?

He just looks to be doing what he is told, which isn't the Nick we know and love

12 disposals and 3 tackles hanging out on the wing in a game like that isn't too bad- the question is obviously "should he be hanging out on the wing?". When he got it he still seemed to be looking to go for the more attacking option. He looked to do a decent job defensively too.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Probably more valuable there imo. I feel very confident when the balls in his hands. His goal kicking has been off all year, not just since the scapegoat incident.

What ARE you guys on about??

The lad wants to play in the midfield, but to do that he needs to learn what hard work is all about.

The real beauty with Judd is NOT his disposal or flair, its simply how hard he works and his explosive speed.

Nick is actually on the right path now. Its the same path Bolton, Ablett, McVeigh and Malceski have taken. And it requires the player to play for the team, not for the three fans on RWO who just like 'flair'.

Spot on. None of Bolton, Ablett, McVeigh or Malceski could have got the side over the line v Geelong last year. Neither can Davis at the moment. Call it flair if you like, I see it as a combination of talent and self-confidence. The later has been seriously dented. Lets hope he gets it back.

Yeah, that was one aspect of his lack of confidence.

Maybe you should try and understand that there is some value in players who try to get the ball in space and create, rather than those who simply try to dive head first into packs and negate.

I didn't think Davis wanted to play midfield. I thought Roos wanted him to. I think he should play half forward.

He has expressly said in numerous interviews that he sees himself in the midfield.

If you want to mention Judd, it's not just hard work and speed, it's also flair. He spins out of trouble and looks to break away to make things happen. The flair aspect is about doing more than just chipping the ball around and doing the team thing, it's also about doing the exciting and unexpected.

don't put too much stock on one terrible kick. His play-on in traffic in the build up to Mick's last goal showed plenty of dare and flair. Don't be surprised if he pops up in a longer forward stint before the year is out.
