only trhemselves to blame - if they think a forward line of Riewoldt, Hamill, Gehrig & Kosi is going to win them a flag they are delusional - there is every chance tha, like last night, 3 out of that 4 won't survive a finals series.

Still got an excellent squad but I think they need to take a few steps back before they go forward, especially with Hayes & Maguire unlikely to have much impact next year.

James McDonald played a defensive role on Nick Dal Santo and Dal Santo was forced to play on a wing for part of the match to shake the tag, with little success.

Apparently NDS was embarrassed by the performance and couldn't look his teamates in the eye after the game. McDonald was actually one of the Dees' best.

Whilst I was barracking for the Dees and enjoy watching St Kilda lose as much as any Swans supporter, I almost felt a bit sorry for them at the end. A few people on here are saying that they are again making excuses . . . . well if I put on my unbias hat I can see that the injuries they sustained during the match didn't help their cause.

If you take at least 2 players (Clarke's) and at times 4 (Gehrig/Kosi) out of action then you have no rotation available for the midfield. Under finals pressure and on a wet track any midfield in the comp would need a rest at some stage. Hence Melbourne's midfielder's gradually took acendency after being soundly beaten in that part of the ground early on.

I'm not saying they didn't deserve it, or that I didn't take any pleasure out of watching it happen, I'm just saying that the majority of what Thomas said after the game was spot on.

Jamar played the 3rd term after breaking a bone in his foot, and will miss the rest of the season.



The MMM team were questioning why the Saints didn't take a few more talls into last nights game to ruck. they reckon that was a bad move and could've cost the saints badly.
