Re: The importance of the win
the importance of the win can be looked at the "negative of this win" for debate/avoiding past error sake.
The Swan has done it a few years ago and in last season? (after the mid year break)
Coming back from a week rest, they forgot how to play intensely again.
For the past two years, Swan alway begin in very low intensity/purpose at the beginning of last season & this season. Just maybe, the players are given too much leeway in "resting" or the strategies are incorrect.
A change of training routine is warranted. Perhaps, instead of having a normal game playing intensity of say 10 points(on a scale of 1 to 10) , and average mid week training intensity of 4 points, perhaps the training intensity for this week rest (next 10 days) for one least one "game train session" should be say 7-8 points, instead of 4 or lower points.
We must come out after 2 weeks time, ready to fire from the first bounce up, resume where we left off from Vs West Coast game intensity, not caught napping for first or more quarters, & dont know what truck has hit us.
If we come up firing next preliminaryfinal, then I feel the flag is very much ours to retain in the final as we have the skill/team approach edge, massaged further with confidence pep up talk by coaching/players, over the current prospective final opponents whoever they are.

Not only do we gain a huge boost of confidence, but we get a week off to rest injuries, and we get out of a long trip to Adelaide. Not to mention the Home Final in a couple of weeks.
