Some common sense from Mike Sheahan about what should be done if a Grand Final is drawn. If we had drawn with WC, there's a good chance we'd have beaten them the following weekend, given their likely injuries and greater distance to travel.

Its just not fair to expect non-Victorian teams to return to the MCG the following week. The AFL must have an extra time rule instead.

I guess I agree with that - but it would be easier to get tickets the 2nd time around.

As if a team would travel home only to come back a few days later. Get @@@@ing real. And as for that comment "The interstate team if it stayed in Melbourne would be away from family and friends". @@@@ing rubbish. More than likely, family would be in Melbourne with them. It's a crap argument anyway, because national teams travel OVERSEAS to play in tournaments etc away from family and friends anyhow and they can live without mummy and daddy for a while.

Look at it another way, a GF replay may also give an opportunity to a player who just missed out on initial selection to play in the replay. It may also give an opportunity to a "required" player who just missed out on selection due to an injury that didn't quite heal in time, to play the following week in the replay
