    My wife is worried!

My wife`s starting to worry about me. I`ve been sitting for unusually long periods of time in my back office(out the back of the house), drinking beer and looking starry eyed at all my Swannie framed pictures of all the guys that are hanging on the wall. Do I have a problem??

Yes, you do. You should be watching DVD replays of the Swans winning final matches from the past few years. Especially, 2005 GF, PF Q4, SF Q4 and last week's match.

Done all of the above, now let the good times roll. Got the tickets, booked the flights and hotel roll on the 22nd.

I am more worried about my wife.

She is starting conversations at random about things like Freo's form or Adam Hunter or Free kick counts. It's starting to get in the way of other conversations about world events etc...

In fact, she has declined a wedding invite on Grand Final day here in Sydney so we can be at GF.

            She's a good girl indeed.

Ditto. She even started to question my sexual persuasion after I got the Victory Pack. "How many times can you watch a man 'catch' a ball in slo-mo.?" she'd keep asking.

I don`t blame her for that. Who in their right mind would get married on GF day?

My neice is getting married the Sat before 23rd and I thought she was nuts for THAT. At least I can watch the Swannies on Fri night.

Im getting worried about my mum! I called her when I got back from Perth (she lives in country NSW) and she spent the first 20 mins ranting about the Swans (Why cant Hally catch he ball! How good is MOL? What happens from here? etc). I think she is more excited now than she was at this time last year!

After the said 20 mins, she finally stopped for breath and said, "So, how are you anyway?"

By then end of the call i had offered to fly her up to Sydney so that she can attend her first ever game, and damn she is excited about it!
If the siren sounds in Tasmania, and the umpires don't hear it, does it make a sound?

You want in on the action?

What the game against Italy did to kill soccer enthusiasm in Oz, the Swannies-Weagles PF did in reverse for AFL. A mate of mine in Sydney is hard core rugger bugger but was going to be in Perth last weekend on holidays. I was in Canada so he decided to assume my identity and get a member's ticket to the Subi game in my name - he took his son.

Before the end of the game he was texting that he'd never experienced anything like it. After the game he was ecstatic. By the time I flew home he was begging for a ticket to the QF. He's coming. So, after years of saying "what are you on about with the Swannies and AFL?" he's seen the light.

Even AD said in the Hun today that the game was one of the best he'd ever seen. Ever.

I'm glad I put my bet in when the Swans were 26:1 for back to back flags.

It's a good time of the year alright.

Unless he 'bumped into Kirky leaving the ground' he fell short.
