Re: Barassi: It's not good for football
In the interests of the game, I have conducted the inquiry tonight, and can report that the reason Victorian clubs have failed to progress this far into the season is that they have not won enough games.
The solution to this situation is for the clubs in question to win more games next season. This involves training, tactical moves, skills and fitness.
The resolution is not found in emergency summits; but in the coaches box, the training track and on the field. And if the non-Victorian teams are doing these things better, and all the evidence suggests that is the case, I don't see what the problem is.

Ron Barassi is whinging about Victorian teams not making the grade at finals time. He wants an inquiry into why this is happening and how it can be fixed.

) but I really do think that its time that Melbourne based football commentators on national TV, speaking to a national (rather than just Victorian) audience, stopped using the term "interstate" to describe non-Victorian teams. Its silly and disrespectful to the teams and supporters in non Victorian states. And I'm not being anti-Victorian saying this.
