While its true Davis was far from our worst player that day against Adelaide, you of all people have to get it though your head that he WASN'T DROPPED on the basis of his performance in that match alone, but alot of other factors that the club decided that needed at that stage of the season to be acted upon before the season really got away from us.

The dropping of Davis and the recall of Matthews cost us the WC game.

You don't know that, you just basing that on the idea that Nick Davis would of made the side a "one goal" better side, when he hardly been that sort of player at any stage of season up to that point, save for the match against Freo a fortnight earlier. Certainly not enough to point to him "being the difference that week".

What if he played and we got pumped instead??? You know that could of been a more than possible outcome considering how the team had played the month before. I think the only reason we played so well against West Coast that week was because we were so pumped up because of the axing on Nick Davis.

But thats my opinion, who really knows what would of happened if he played, certainly not enough to make a call either way thats for sure

Ok, in the end it didnt really matter, but selection policy cost us a game.

Sadly the 2nd half of the West Coast game we couldn't hold on and true that was without Nick in the side, but that was because the midfield hardly managed to get the ball to the forwards (and therefore hardly would of given Nick many chances in the 2nd half to kick that "extra goal"), but we did the same thing last year in the QF with him in the side as well - was that down to our selection policy??? Of course it wasn't.

At the time I was as @@@@@@ as anyone about Davis being dropped but I was just as @@@@@@ with the way Roos and the club handled the publicity about what was done. My thoughts exactly. I was critical of the way it was handled in the press, and it lowered my impressions of Kirk in particular. I may now have a restored opinion of Kirk, but I still hold that the club did not handle it well at all.

Yes, it was a different Nick Davis tonight. He made several telling contributions in the midfield in the third quarter. He seemed more assured of his role in the team than before. I am sure that the Geelong SF will not be his last brilliant individual performance, but now we need him to be a team player.

Did anyone else seem to think he injured himself at some stage during the game? Seemed very proppy and running at half pace in the 4th quarter.

I thought Davo was great tonight. When the Dockers got to within 7 points with a bit of a roll on it was Davis who stepped up with some nice work to set up one and score another. It was that period at the end of the 3rd Qte where we won the game.

Well done Davo. The hard work has paid off

to me it looked like he disloacted a finger or something ... but that probably wouldn't affect his running unless he was in alot of pain ...

It's good to se him switch on just before the GF hopefully he can keep the momentum going, I love his skills when he is playing well when he kicks the ball it looks so smooth
