Anyone hear on CH10? Tarrant to sydney? (merged with Next Full Forward?)

As reported on Ch 10 news at 5.00 (FRI, 22nd), apparently Sydney are firming favourties for Tarrant but will have to give away a first round draft pick + something else in order to get him. Personally, I'd love to see him at Sydney but on the other hand, a 1st rnder in a strong draft might be something the swans are not willing to give away...

What do we need Tarrant for? We have ROK to do what Tarrant is best at, and ROK is better at it!

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I think there were some talks with trade week not being far away. I wasn't sure they said we were favourites, but rather that we had expressed an interest in him.

The report suggested that Swans and Pies have been in trade talk. What was interesting was that Tarrant's manager didn't deny that he was on the market. I heard a whisper that the coaching staff is worried about MOL's knee and sees Tarrant as a ready replacement/insurance. Funny though as the past month or so he's been back to his best.

Why get tarrant, he will just miss goals when we make the finals.

Heath Grundy will fill any role tarrant might offer.

No Grundy not as good as Tarrant. To be quite honest I think they would look at playing Tarrant further up the ground where he could feed the forwards. And that would allow MOL to play closer to goals and not do so much running.

Tarrant is rubbish, stay away from him!! We have loads of ready made forwards allready as well as Vogels and Grundy coming up.

About to turn 26. We don't need him in the current structure, and even if he could get his head right, he wouldn't offer us enough years after MOL and BBBH retire to justify giving away a first round draft pick plus something else of value.

Make no mistake, though-- the guy can play.

I'm not too worried by all the talk. We were strongly linked to Spider in 2005, too, but the fact was that Sydney wasn't in a position to offer anything like what the Hawks were demanding. The Woods would be likely to demand the moon & stars for him, and just price us out of the market.

Hmmm...and MOLs hit rate last Sep was what?

My thoughts on Tarrant is that he has no heart. But I think that about all pies players.

No thanks - surely there is another full forward out there we could take? Ken McGregor??????

I would welcome him at the right price, but a first rounder plus something else? Perhaps our willingness to trade picks in the past couple of years (Richards - 1st rounder, Chambers - 2nd rounder) may come back to bite us.

New enviroment could be what Tarrant needs to get the best out of him. He can play no question.

I'd keep the pick without question. Tarrant's more trouble than he's worth I reckon

I think that we can turn Tarrant into another Swan's good boy like Hall and Lockett. And he'd be a perfect replacement for MOL when he retires in 2008.
