C'mon Darren, work hard over the next 3 days to "induce" it, for the sake of the team.

Most Aussie cricketers also miss the inception of the child.

One of their teammates usually helps out !

Why not invite both teams to watch the birth and delay the grand final by 1 week

                Surely that is a possibility

I've heard she's well known for her second and third efforts. And think of all those placenta-based pranks you could have in the locker room to ease the nerves.

I've three kids - the first were twins - and I reckon I could've nicked out from the royal chicks in Carlton down to the G to be first ruck in a GF. The mrs was in recovery for a couple of hours...And ffs, it's not as if it was a surprise, after all. ("WHAT? You mean to say you've been pregnant ffor the last 38 weeks and not told me? But I've already got my ticket!!...")

Actually, had I done that, I probably wouldn't have had a third. Kill two birds (so to speak). Sadly in 2000 this wasn't an issue!

If she goes into labour on GF day, why not just set up a delivery room in the changerooms? Jolly can spend some time off the ground and be there for the birth and then after it is over be back on the ground. Jolly plays for about three quarters and is there for the birth.

Of course, this is probably a silly idea. They have cameras in the changerooms these days.
