have west toast learnt how to play against sydney yet ?

    im worried that they have....

1st final would have been another learning experience for them.

they seem to have so much more upside to their game then syd. lets hope syd can hold up their midfield again.

im really worried.... and its only Monday.

Chill. I think we learnt just as much ourselves. Dont forget that we were given our first 'lesson' in round 15, and we lost. Then we tipped them over in our next encounter over there. And that trend points towards a more comfortabel victory this week at a neutral environment.

As Roos said there are no secrets anymore anyway.

If West Coast try to push numbers back to block space in our forward line then they are destined to fail as they are not good enough at doing it. We saw them try to do it against the Crows for a while and it didn't work.

Sydney will not run out of legs like the Crows did. We are fitter than last year and all our recent matches point to us having a very fit side.

If we kick straight we could have the match under control and half time. We should have had Freo buried. When we are dominating games for periods it is important we kick straight. We should have led the grand final last year by 30-40 points at half time but wasted our chances.

MOL, Baz and ROK have found the right formula let's hope they pass it on to Schneider, Kirky etc this week at training.

My advice: don't read to much into the columns of newspaper space this week about how the Weagles midfield is the best to ever grace a footy ground. We've held them the last 4 or 5 times we've played and we can expect we will do it again.

i will stick with your reasoning shneiderman.

Sydney did seem very confident and business like last week. i guess they know what is required from them this week too.
            -neutral ground
-west toast players still run around lost at times.
            ok im convinced

For the Eagles to win they either have to completely dominate the midfield, or Lynch and Hunter will need to have a field day and convert pretty much every opportunity they have.

The latter could happen but it would be one out of the box for WC if it does.

The former is more likely, and if our midfield gets smashed by theirs and can't generate opportunities for our forward line, we'll just have to accept we were beaten by a better team on the day.

The key will be good conversion by our forwards when our midfield is breaking even, or even on top. Good as the WC midfield is, it rarely dominates for the whole game, except against the lesser teams. Even then, the Carlton and Hawks midfields matched it with the WC one for much of their games earlier this year.

And early in last year's GF and again in the QF this year, the Wiggles' midfield came out firing and dominated the early parts of the game but our midfield and defence were good enough to withstand the barrage.

Great stat...now who are the two teams that are playing this week again?

Seriously...it's going to be a very tight match. The midfield battle will be huge!

If we can shut down MOL, we'll go a long way to winning the game! We're on a roll South Melbourne or Bloods or Sydney or whoever you are, so watch out...it's payback time. You might get a bit more bandwagon support seeing as your League teams are not good enough to make the ARL Final.

Please read the rules, RWO doesn't allow discussion of the club's origins, it upsets some of the more fragile posters.

They've known since last year. That's why all the games since have been so close.

Until the toasters sort out their forward line that is......

Hi Troller ... we missed you!!
We love our bandwagon ... albeit we'd love them more if they were a little louder, but we love them just the same.
We don't care that much about Bogan League here.
Not having a NSW team in the Bogan Grand Final is a HUGE bonus for the Swans ... the WHOLE CITY is behind us now.
At the G last year, did you happen to notice how the WHOLE THING was a sea of red and white??
Funny thing about those Melbourne people, they'll back Sydney (being an ex-Melb team) BEFORE they even THINK about backing the wet toast egirls budgies.
                          Cheep Cheep.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Thanks for that, Im now back on the "Sydney will win" bandwagon rather than worrying about getting flogged Please, if there is a god, let us not lose to WCE.

Could be worse - imagine being the team that lost a Preliminary Final to Freo. You'd be in the record books forever.
