    Reasons why we should win?

Where is all the analysis, comparisons and talk of why we should win?

I am too lazy to start such a thread but surely there are theorists out there with the game strategies that we should use to trump the Eagles.

    Hello, Liz?NMW?, etc. etc.

    But you just did?

I'm thinking they're going to come out firing & try to blow us away early - as they've tried the last few times & would have possibly succeeded with better finishing. Our job is to soak this up with close marking and extreme pressure & then catch 'em on the counter (as we've managed to do successfully in the big games).

They seem a bit more potent up forward than they were last year. I wonder if Hunter will start up there? - but Woosha seems to like to save that move for when they're struggling.

At the same time our forward line is in as good a form as I can remember & if our service is good - Look out!

IMO they will be much better than last year...what about us? Abit better overall I think...but can we hold them again...can we hold that incredible mid field power again...will our forward line play like it did Friday night again...will Leo be a champ again, or a chump (strange that I now worry more about him than LRT!). Can Ted bluff his way thru a game this big? Can we manage Hunter when he comes forward?
On balance this conservative says No...but carn the bloods!

I'm too nervous to think about any detailed football analysis. I'm just going to see what unfolds.

As I wrote earlier in the year, I think in some ways we are better than last year. By that I now think that our best is better than last year, but our worst is worse too. Our performance distribution is more spread out.

Hopefully our best team turns up on Saturday and if that happens we should win.

We should win because we're a good side.

I think it'll be really close again. We should win yes, but I worry about Quinten (Sp) Lynch. I think he is a big danger.

We'll romp it in. We have the wood on them. We should have beaten them in WA earlier this year (they were friggin luckt that game), and we just beat them recently. We beat them in last year's GF, so if anything, they'll be more bloody nervous than us.

Because this ridiculous run of alternative winners each match has to end.

I have always thought that the 2002 Collingwood loss to Brisbane by 9 points destroyed them in the 2003 grand final. The pressure they would have placed themselves under because of how close they got the year before would have been immense. I think it showed in their second half. Stress is a pretty sapping emotion.

I think we have all the advantages going into this week, played in Sydney, we were recovering a long time before the Eagles even ran out to AAMI and the Eagles had to travel back to Perth Saturday night. It was a massive weekend for them.

I don't think they will have the legs they typically have in the 2nd half this week. That said, I do think they will be on fire in the first half, we really have to hold them early on.
