    GO SWANNIES!!!!!!
I can imagine... but the way Egirls fans go on, they'd be acting like they have it in a bag before the ball was kicked.

I really hate talk like this.

Though I don't entirely disagree with you about the prospect of a comfortable win. Given that the four thrillers have followed a similar pattern - us establishing a lead of between 15-30 points before the Eagles getting on one of their famous rolls - it's probably a good sign for us if we can really capitalise during the period that we do have control of the game. Hopefully, when Woosha does his thing and throws Hunter forward in desperation, we will be up to it this time. I can't figure out who is the best match-up for him. I'm thinking give B2 the job.

But the more I speculate, the more nervous I'll make myself, so I think I'll just stop now.

Agree with that. Talk of running out of legs should be talked about in hindsight, not when the game is still thre to be won. We can't assume anything. If it's even steven in the last quarter just don't think they will just bend over for us.

That was correct for last year but the general consensus is that the Eagles' six new faces in the lineup are a great improvement on the team from last year.

My greatest concrn is their usual burst in the third quarter - As they had against us in the Qualifying and against the Crows - If we can hold them out to half time and at least be equal in the third term then watch out.

By the way was out in the Melbourne CBD last night - Already heaps of Eagles supporters out - And a little too cocky for my liking as well.

No difference from last year. When I was in Melbourne during that period I saw lot of WCE supporters around and some among them very cocky as well, but hardly any Swans supporters at all. I saw that as a bad omen at that time.

Yeah i definately noticed that too on Friday last year. At the grand final parade we were seriously out numbered and there were heaps of cocky eagles supporters making smirky comments towards us and just acted like their @@@@ didn't smell. However at the MCG it seemed like we outnumbered them.

... and that's where it matters, my friends.
Don't worry ... there'll be red & white numbers on Saturday!!

Been out for a lunchtime run the last couple of days and the Weagles supporters are out numbering us on the streets of Melbourne by about 3 to 1 at this stage. Was very amused to see a number of them lining up for Chris Tarrant's autograph at Fed Square on Monday....Go figure!!
                    oh well, maybe next time......

The eagles wont have the legs. Too much travel, 2 weeks in a row. I tell ya, this grand final will be a breeze. Swans by 30 points or more. We'll kick on from at 15-20 lead and blow it out early in the last quarter. It will be like the Freo game all over again.
You make some extreme calls that are sometimes quite prescient. Hopefully this is one of them!

My pick is either Swans by 35 or Eagles by 5.

I'm hoping the weight of expectation will be too much for them again. I think the cockiness works in our favour - and also that every "expert" and his dog is tipping the Wiggles.

Just bought a copy of Inside Football and noticed that nobody rates our team again. Ou tof 11 tipsters only two were giving us a chance (one of them of course is Jim Main). Most of them even think that we're going to be smashed by more than 30 points and that our game against Freo was just average. So. we're back to be underdogs as last year.

It would be good to win so I can tell my NRL mates 'I told you so'. it would also be good to win to shut those people up who say the swans fluked a premiership. NO team can fluke a premiership
2005, year of the swan, Demetriou was wrong so we sing this song...

Honour the name by day and by night....."

I was about to retaliate thinking "whats that grumpy old man on about" until I looked up what "prescient" meant on wikipedia.

Thanks Bloods! Swans by 35. We are on the same wavelength.
