Schneider still has many years left of football (providing he doesnt get injured), and he is a valued players to the swans, playing in the last 2 grand finals aswell. He still has plenty of time to improve on his footy and has more to give to our club, same with Ablett i reckon, its all just time. I dont just say this cos i love him too lol !!

Exactly the reason we would be able to get some quality by trading players such as him. You won't get much by trading fringe players or late draft picks, like we have.

Don't really want to say much as it may be more from the heart than the head at this stage. But, the boys did do us proud in the way they kept in there and gave us a chance.

        Agree with the punters.

        Kirk,
        Richards,
        Kennelly,
        Davis,
        Goodes, in the second half,
        Ryno in the first half,
        McVeigh.

Kirky's speech was the only time during the day that I teared up.

I think with McVeigh adding to his fitness, and perhaps N Davis having a decent preseason, the 'class' in the mf may be solved. Also, we have Moore who is a footballer's footballer - footy smarts, tough, pretty good skills (not overly fast admittedly) we're not out of the ball park. Look, we were two points off the flag with several of our key players down so it's no time to take the cleaver to the team just yet. We've lost Maxfield, Williams, Ball, Nicks, Schaubs et al in the last two years so a lot of experience has gone by the wayside.

I expect the football committee will do their job with list management. A trade for a B1, Monty, Fossie, Dumpster and Schneids is possible for the right bait but not realistic I don't think. Spriggs and Schmidt are knocking on the door, as is Bevan.

Our only queries for next year would be Leo, (Vogels the replacement) O'Loughlin (Grundy) and Kirk (as per the above)given their age and how their body pulls up after another pre-season.

Other thoughts? Mathews as a FP if Davis can go in the mf. Is a very good set shot and could present some problems for the opposition. (I said COULD!!!)

So you would be happy to trade him?

I reckon Schneids and Monty are, behind Kirky, the two next proponents of whatever the "Bloods" stands for. I'd be loathe to trade them atm, although I'm not about to say keep them at all costs.

It would be a heart-breaking decision. I really believe that. If the whole mantra of team play is to be maintained, then we must be careful not to blow it apart by trading pointlessly. One of them would need to ask to go I reckon. I'd prefer to get rid of B1 or NOG.

Who is this Mathews, the good set shot, you talk about ????

You can go back as far as you like, you will not find ONE disparaging remark of Ben Mathews from me. I have championed his cause long and hard amongst my group.

But to suggest he is a good set shot ???

When he received that pass for his goal on Saturday with, I think, O'Keefe also an option to recieve the pass, I think most Swans fans said WTF. Noooooooo.

I thought Kirky was best player on the ground - from both sides.

Have to agree......Absolute highlight. I was willing him so hard to do it , do it, beat him, I'm sure the vibe must have reached him.

I admire how players although not footballers such as lrt play their role perfectly.

However, in the midfield you need instinct and thier is not one at present.
Above his ability? He has some of the best ball skills in the club. For him he just needs to get more of the ball. Have a look back at some of the games this year - especially geelong, saints and freo games - he is a gamebreaker. and will not be traded.

                        stupid comment.
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!

Schneids been in the BOGs quite a few games this year and don't think he should be classed as midfield this year.

I do agree tho' that we don't have a really classy midfield general. What I wouldn't give to have Paul Williams up for trade in 2007 at age 26-27!

I'd like to see Davo with more midfield time and plenty of pinch hitting up forward to keep him excited. Getting Eski through a solid preseason and being injury free all year is an really exciting prospect and I'd like to see Vogels get more time in the backline.

I tell you who I'd love to see playing on the ball a bit more is Mr C Bolton!

Agree that Davo, Kirky and Richards showed the way on Saturday. Really enjoyed Eski's goal too.
