Now that you've worked up almost the entire board into a hysterical panic about the possibilty of Malceski being traded for Spida, would you care to tell us where you heard this (aka your source)? Or did you just throw in Malceski's name for effect (which appears to have worked very well)?

Settle down people - there's no evidence whatsoever that Malceski will be traded for anyone.

They might not be trying to be cute or unreasonable but they are being both cute and unreasonable.

Hopefully the leadership group don't mortgage our future in a personal quest for atonement. I think we have the tools for a repeat bid already and I really do think Everitt would come through via the PSD.

If we were to trade enything more than a second round pick, I would be staggered (and mightily dissappointed).

I think it's worth remembering that Malceski was a name dropped by the Hawks. Last year they started off by wanting Jude Bolton for Spida...and that wasn't going to happen either.

Didn't we have this discussion a year ago? I might have said yes then, but I think he's too old, now. I'm backing Jolly and Doyle to be our ruck combo for 2007, with Earl Shaw (he'd have to be ready for the seniors soon) or possibly Eriksen as backup. And trading Malceski would be insane.

Hearing that the leadership (Leo Barry) saying they would want him. & that Barry Hall is a very good friend of Spida & he really want him.

I just hope that the leadership group don't have the final say.

Cos if it was Nick could be traded!!

Malcheski will shorely not be traded.

As someone has already said this talk is a knee jerk reaction to a disappointing effort by Jolly in the GF.

When Doyle had to stand up to Cox in the last quarter he did, with a few more games will prove his worth. Jolly must be one of the top 5 ruckman in the league.

If Everitt came to Sydney I would be suprised if Doyle stayed. This year is his do or die year - to see whether he can cut it week in - week out against the best the league have to offer.

It would be disappointing for him (and me) if he was pushed to No.3 ruckman.

I agree. 2007 should be Doyle's year to stand up. It would seem surprising and disappointing to get rid of him now ( he would surely leave if Spida came to town),just as he seems to be coming into his own. If he can hold up as far as injuries are concerned, he is a much better long term prospect for us than the old guy.

Agree with all the comments about 2007 being Donkey's year. If he can have a full pre-season and go into the year in peak fitness then he is basically a gun new recruit.

Given we are looking to bolster our ruck division, there is NO way Doyle will be traded. I think Roos has come round to the thinking that you need 3 top ruckmen in your squad. So Doyle stays.

Can someone confirm that Amon has re-signed? The rumour that he wants to head back to Melbourne won't go away, as unlikely as it sounds.

Could we trade Mathews or Spriggs to Brisbane for a 2nd round pick (they desperately will need experienced players) and on-trade to the Hawks for Spida??

I think the most likely player traded for Spida will be Vogels. Which would be a good trade for all involved.
He isnt getting game time in teh seniors, and the role he plays has been filled. He would be second in line for the forward line after H Grundy. His trial on teh backline, whislt he was good, but the role has been taken now by Ted.
He goes to the hawks, who coudl do with a tallish forward, where he will get more game time. We get Spida.. everyone is happy...

I would love to have this rumour quashed. Anybody???
It can't be true can it? Who would want to leave the Swans in the middle of this amazing ride?

Vogels said his manager was currently in negotiations with the Swans working out another contract.

``The Swans have indicated I'm a required player so we're just working through that,'' he said.

``I'd like a two-year deal, but we'll wait and see.''
