Maxfield is not really an appropriate forward coach.

What makes him inappropriate then, he has managed to gain the respect of the players (not that that is hard thing to do) he will ultimately want a coaching role and what better place to start than with his best buddy. The guy is a natural ...These days it is all tactics and whatever, the old coaching styles have finished.
Also how many players do you know have been rescued with a job by a club after their playing careers have finished.
Maxfield will need to coach as he will find it hard to do anything else.

He'll be the next supercoach and if Roos is already planning his retirement then let's stitch him up for the long term.
Absolutely...but as a forwards coach? No doubt he could do it...but you'd have to go:
1.Lynch
2. Voss
Getting someone from Brisbane is an excellent idea ->they know the crowd (Bris and Sydney similar markets) - and there's noone at Sydney with the experience of the three peat. Success breeds success.
3. Carey
The man was a champ.
4. Daylight
5. My U6's soccer coach. (The man knew how to score a goal)

I think an outside influence would be a better option....
Besides, bogans don't make good coaches......
