Voted for Warfe, thought he was quite good on occasions. But... i am surprised not to see Sanford Wheeler up there.... Whatever happened to him??

I was actually going to post another thread, posing the question which of the players who we have let go in the last few years have proven us wrong? Apart from so-called stars like Shannon Grant and Rocca (???), can't think of many. Scott Stevens had a good year this year, but i don't reckon he would have beenin our GF 22, and then there's Troy Cook. But think of the others....Fixter, Saddington, even Mott at Carlton.

Think guys do better when they come to us, under the present regime, than they do when they leave.
I was always a fan of Fixter - it was injury that ruined his time at the swans. ROK and Fixter debuted at a similar time. I remember the first time each put their hand up was in the same game. ROK kick 4 goals playing up forward and Fixter kicked 3 off the HBF. There was also that time Stephen Milne had kicked 30 straight goals or something like that and Fixter shut him down...zero touches for the day. Give him a year or two and see....he won an award with the lions this year.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

I remember when Fixter said he wanted to be "the new Paul Kelly". It seemed arrogant at the time, but he picked a good bloke to aim for. I always thought he showed promise.

I went with Bennett, played way better than he looked, I was cut when he was cut.

Ricky O L was still playing NTFL last year and he has a LOT of the amazingly quick footy tricks that his brother has, although he is a wee bit stouter. (ABC2 had the NTFL last year if you have digital).
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.

              Without a doubt Rowan Warfe.

Rowan Warfe, easily the most talented player on that list ...by a mile.

Prior to him getting his shoulder busted by Mark Johnson? Warfe was a pretty relieable defender that provided a good deal of run out of half back. After that, unfortunately he could never get back. Gave us more good games than bad.

I had Fixter in my nutrigrain fantasy football team....

(Which I coincidentally won - well my league anyway and didn't all of my mates from Melbourne & Perth just hate that the only sydneysider in the comp beat them)...

But he racked up some pretty good stats and his value more than doubled. And even though it's only a game, it is pretty accurate. He had a reasonable season with Brisbane this year and will be better next year. One of the few to leave Sydney and actually improve!

                    Warfe definately.
Although, I was excited when we picked up little Freddy Campbell ... given the opportunity, I thought he was a little Goodsey in the making. Pity he wasn't given the opportunity.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Hacks....surely Bomford should be included on that list. And John Stevens was a fairly decent player, and doesn't deserve to be called a hack. But why the team of 97 didn't do better given what happened in 96 is, for me, one of football's great mysteries...
Im abstaining from voting as it's hard to nominate which one was most talented...LOL, might be easier to nominate which one was least talented... and that has to be a toss-up between Rhino and Mott.
Even to this day, when Jude takes a shot at goal from 30 metres out, like say in a grand final, a shot which might give the team a bit of a spur, and he barely scrapes it in for a point, we say he's "Done a Mott".
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."
