We kicked 100 more goals than Carlton - yep that's right, 600 more points and Hall took 80 more marks than Fev. But Fev kicked 84 goals to Hall's 78 to take out the Coleman medal. I'm sure the Statsman at Iinside Football would be able to tell you his name, but I do recall it happening in the last 25-odd years.

As for Fev I maintain the point I earbashed my mates with all year: Carlton finished last because they have an out-dated forward structure. Carlton have one key forward now that Whitnall spends his days at CHB. No one else besides Fev can kick a winning score for them and when he gets shut down they fail. The highest scoring teams - Adelaide, Bulldogs, Collingwood and even Sydney all have multiple forwards who can win the game. Hall has a bad day, and ROK and MOL clean up. Fev has a bad day, Carlton get flogged. It's not a coincidence that the only games Carlton won this year involved Whitnall going forward at some stage and kicking goals. So to Pagan: Get a real CHB, get with the times, or bugger off and let someone else coach who isn't afraid of change. Pagan's Paddock doesn't work anymore.
