Interestingly, the Dogs game was the one BOG Goodes got from the umpires that was thought a few weeks ago to be slightly lucky. I think he said during the count that he didn't expect to get votes in that game. It's hard to remember everything come end of season but the TLM votes and "paper best" suggest it wasn't particularly one out of the bag after all.

Correct me if I'm wrong (couldn't be bothered looking it up again), but I think that JBolt didn't get a single Brownlow vote in the Dogs game. He was BOG by an absolute country mile in it. Unbelievable that someone watching the same game as me (let alone actually out on the field, close to the action) wouldn't think he was even in the top 3.

Hence the name Best & FAIREST

would have done something that upset the umpies on the day

If best on ground was the only measure Carey would have got 4/5 Brownlows

                Rnd 9 v Hawthorn.

The Hawks are without there captain, but it seems they are without much more. From the start of the game the swans

are on top, 5 goals to nil in the first term, however, they had not come to play as they had done the last few

weeks. A 21 point lead at half time was soon to be a blow out. 12 goals to 4 in the 2nd half. Goodes was on fire,

Davis Hall and MOL were amongst the goals, and Guerra was on fire too. Too much fire, earnt himself a holiday for

                his shot on LRT.

                SYDNEY 5.2 7.3 14.3 19.5 (119)
                HAWTHORN 0.3 3.6 6.11 7.12 (54)

Paper Best: Sydney: A Goodes B Kirk B Hall J Bolton P Williams N Fosdike.
                Brownlow Hawthorn v Sydney (MCG)
                3. A Goodes (Syd)
                2. N Fosdike (Syd)
                1. J Lewis (H)

                TLM Votes

                5 - A Goodes
                4 - N Fosdike
                3 - N Davis
                2 - T Kennelly
                1 - L Ablett

                Rnd 10 v Kangaroos.

                SYDNEY 5.3 7.3 11.6 16.9 (105)
                KANGAROOS 0.6 7.10 12.11 14.14 (98)

The Swans hit the front in the first term again without the opponent registering a major. This is going to be a walk

over yet again. But the tenacity of the Roos saw them put on 5 unanswered goals to be in front by 7 points at the

main break. The Roos continue on the winning way, until at 32 points down the Swans decided to put the foot on the

pedal. Hall (6 goals) then dominated the last term to help get the swans over the line in a nail biter.

6th win in a row. Things are looking up.

                Paper Best: Sydney: B Hall C Bolton B Kirk L Ablett A Schneider A Goodes A Buchanan.
                Brownlow Kangaroos v Sydney (MO)
                3. A Goodes (Syd)
                2. B Harvey (K)
                1. A Buchanan (Syd)

That would be for the "Capable but found wanting more often than not" player.

Looks like there isn't one because you and Sanecow don't play for the Bloods.

If you have to have a go at someone personally, take it off the board. Everyone else doesn't need to see your hissy fits.
