      QF V West Coast

After a tight 10 minute tussle that saw the Eagles skip away with 2 goals, the swans midfield settled and started getting the ball forward, where MOL, Kirk, then MOL again scored to give the Swans a 5 point 1st Qtr lead. The game was being played at a frenetic pace. Both sides had come to win this one. 4 Goals to 2 in the 2nd term and Sydney were looking good. A huge goal from the boundary, right on 50, from only a few steps, gave Hall one of the goals of the night. 15 point lead.

The eagles never give up attitude saw them put on 5 goals to 3 to reduce the margin to just 3 points. Chick tried to take Malceski out of the game with a late bump, but after a rest and a check up, he would soon return.

The final qtr saw 6 lead changes. As the lead seesawed, no team could take advantage of their lead. From deep in defence the ball was secured, and then Ablett, Buchanan, Kennelly, Davis, Goodes, and Fosdike worked the ball forward with some slick passes and some pick ups off their toes, but nobody wanted to be the one who fumbled the ball and the game. It was Malceski who would give the swans their final chance to win the game, The ball sailed into the F50 with a beautiful kick, Schneider was caught out and Banfield managed to get a fist on it , the bounced towards the goal square. A point would be devasting for the swans. MOL, who had been good for most of the night, was in the right place as the ball bounced and tumbled towards goal. He sprinted, in chase of the ball, as if on a string the ball sits up nicely, it is his. He wins the race by mere centimetres and pokes it through for waht would be the winning goal. He then gave the WC Cheer Squad a face full. Rumour is some underwear was stained in the face off.

With barely time left the Eagles desparately try to get the ball forward, and eventually just before our hearts give out, the siren goals. We Won by 1 points.

Revenge is ours. A home Preliminary has been secured. One more game to the 2nd GF in a row. An exhausting game for players and fans of both teams.

Looks like the first five are locked in.

        I'm guessing for the GF Bolton - 0, Hall - 0, Kirk - 5

Maybe you should give double points for the granny.

              PF V Fremantle

Sunning myself on the Gold Coast, downing a few XXXX's at the local pub. Wondering how I will get a GF Tik, IF we win, tonight.
After the Freo crowd gave Meblourne a rousing reception, last week, it was our turn to turn the Purple haze into a sea of red and white.
Wel this weeks team turned up with their kicking boots on, but left the rudder at home, kicking 3.6 to 3.2, Freo should have been buried by now. But the

swans don't let their fans sit back and gloat do they. They dominated, but couldn't convert. The Dockers worked tirelessly M Carr, and Bell in the middle

While Pavlich was proving a big handful, as ever. But then Farmer failed to deliver, Headland was lost and it appeared the Dockers had lost their cohesion.
While the swans outscored the Dockers in each qtr they would not lay down, and it wasn't until within the 10 mins that the game appeared to be over.
Within the last 5 that I first thought it is in the bag. I didn't even get to the final siren. I was already in a panic trying to get arrange a ticket for

              next week.
Hall was instrumental kicking 6 goals. He kept his head down and his fists. Buchanan was the only worry, but was later to have his charge dismissed. O'keefe

and MOL kicked 4 a piece, while Kirk lifted his game to be in the best.

With minimal injury worries, the Swans reach their second consecutive GF in a ver long time.

                      GF V West Coast

Well, it is a beautiful sunny day in Melbourne, West Coast against Sydney, in the 2006 AFL Grand Final. A repeat of last year.
The build up has been a bit quieter than last year, no Hallgate issues. Most people on the Gold Coast are hoping the swans can go B2B.

A minor problem happens at the start of the game, the swans are still warming up as the umpire starts the game. "Not fair" calls Roos, "We weren't ready!". The Eagles take full advantage of this and with a bad case of the fumbles, Buchanan hands a goal to the ever present Judd, while Jolly does much the same on the wing. 3 goals in 11 minutes and it looks like goodnight swans. The Eagles midfield are on fire. All the swans can do is chase, and hope. Hansen is the early star getting away from last years 1st half hero LRT, with a couple of telling marks and goals. While big Cox is ruining Jollys day. 4 set shots go missing in the first term. 2 to Jude Bolton and 1 to Hall. Halls day would not get much better. 16 points down at qtr time is not that bad considering!!

Again the Eagles dominate stretching their lead by half time to 4 goals. Things are not improving. Hall has gone missing, Goodes is struggling, Embley is getting away from LRT, and Lynch is having the better of Barry. A walk over is on the cards.

Someone told the swans that th game had actually started, so "The Bloods". Kirk, Fosdike and Super Ted lead the way in the 3rd term, and Nick Davis start to try to save us, with a 55m bomb to reduce the margin to just 11 points.

A centre break win sees the ball land in Halls hands, and with the collective crowd holding their breath, Hall hits his target with a precise handball, a rampaging Brownlow Medalist who goals to reduce the margin to less than goal for the first time since early in the 1st qtr. GAME ON. O'Keefe sneaks a goal through, hands for a goal. But up the other end of the ground a smother off O'Keefes boot by Chick, gives Hunter a goal. Malceski then reduces the margin to 1 again.

It was Super Ted to the rescue with a superb run down the wing, the crowd on its feet, he was on his wrong side and a crunching tackle, that left him almost unconscious, and the ball OOTF. The last chance appeared gone. There would be no heroics this year.

Another bomb into the goal square sees Embley mark uncontested. The Mark that won the game. It was not as spectacular as Leo's last year, but just as effective.

The game ended with the swans desperately trying to move the ball around the wing and a very tired Eagles hanging on grimly. The Siren beat the swans, and so did the Eagles. It was a fantastic comeback. It was a fantastic ending to the game. While disappointed in the result, the swans were not disappointing in effort.

                      Thankyou for those who voted.
                      CONGRATULATIONS to Adam Goodes.
A runaway winner since Rnd 10 and was really never in doubt.
A superb 2006, which includes a Brownlow Medal, a Swans B&F, a few media awards, and now, the coveted TLM.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
