Remember it like it was yesterday....

He took the mark about 20m in front of me... (I was lucky enough to be in the SCG members on the day) I was standing right beside a channel 7 camera.... Beautiful Sydney afternoon.... SCG was heaving and must have been at near capacity... The members was certainly full....

From memory, it was his 4th for the quarter? Collingwood were playing fairly average and were in for a total punishing that day....

Even bought the 1300th jumper.. Takes prid eof place on my wall... Anyone else snare one of these???

I was also in attendance when he kicked his 1000th Career goal and 100th season goal in the same game... field got invaded twice that day!! That was in the day when we would all go to the Noble stand after and have a few beers with the players.. Anyone remember the year and game that was??? Had my ex-g/f's little brother with me for that one... He got Pluggers autograph on the match ticket! Might be worth something one day!

Shut up ... all of you. Ah the memories .... I'm sitting here with tears welling in the corners of my eyes!!!

      Bring back Plugger.

As I've mentioned on numerous occasions, a video that is well-watched by the "under 18's" at our house. I can't begin to tell you how many times we've seen that game. "Aunty ... there's nothing on TV. Can we go upstairs and get the Plugger video."

The kids love it when they see how young MOL and Goodsey looked. Every time they see Paul Kelly they jump up and scream "go Kells". One of them says every single time he sees Kells kick the ball right onto Pluggers chest, "Aunty, I wish I was born ten years earlier, I missed all this."

I think we're only beginning to realise how bloody lucky we were that day to see it.

Is that game available on DVD??? Anyone???

      Gotta stop now. I'm crying.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

One of my favourite sporting memories!

I got mine signed. He was in "Franklins" at Burwood Plaza (NSW) doing signings for Milo (who were one of his sponsors).

My sister-in-law and I lined up for three hours to see him. We were the first "kids" in the line. When I asked him to sign my T-shirt, he looked at me and said "I'm really supposed to be signing Milo tins ... hang on."

God love him ... he took the T-shirt from me, turned away from the Milo reps, signed it, then passed it back to me "on the sly".

                    What a freakin' legend.

If I REALLY feel like sticking it up the kids, for a bit of entertainment, I get the Tshirt out and show them ... but they're not allowed to touch it. It drives them nuts.

Does anyone follow his dishlickers? How are they going? I heard he's a pretty successful trainer.

Guess who was playing for the Pies on that day?!

                        None other than:

                        Andrew Schauble
                        Paul Williams
                        Nick Davis

This and the Prelim final against the Bombers are the only videos i've bought from that rip off place sports delivered.

Yuup, 2nd last home-game of that year.

Iirc the hundredth went to the Randwick end in the first half and the goal umpire got taken out when plugger kicked the 1000th to the paddington end...

Geez ... remember the days when the kids used to charge the ground the second the final hooter sounded?

Ah charging the ground ... those were the days!!!

I've got the T-shirt too as some friends of mine were there and knew it was a special day for me for a lot of reasons.

I don't know which is my favourite. The Plugger1300th or the Grand Final one.

Tough one to pick there. My favourite Lockett game was in '98 against Port Adelaide. We were a goal behind at half-time, Plugger steps in bags 6 in the 3rd quarter and 12 for the game.
