The networks signed a $780 Million agreement knowing how the AFL schedule games.

If 7 and 10 can handle it, we will just have to handle living with knowing where and when our team is playing 6 months in advance.

I can't handle NOT knowing where and when our team is playing six months in advance!!

I heard talk this morning that Fox Footy were going at it again with Ch7/10.

        Anyone heard anything on this????

        Cheers

If they pump it up the right way, make sure there is a LOT of publicity etc, we could do quite well out of it. Treat it almost as they treated the Prelim Final against Freo.

Besides, I had to change a flight from next week to an alternative date and chose the last weekend in March!

              Thanks Frog.

Fox should just pay the money CH7/10 want and shut up.

They created a monster for themselves when they decided to stop Fox Footy.

Even if they play three games a week on Sports 3 or whatever, I don't think that'll be enough for those people who bought Foxtel on the basis of a dedicated footy channel to keep their subscriptions going. I was going to buy it at the beginning of this year ... glad I didn't now.

You are missing the point, if the days and times of fixtures are not released until six weeks before, then you would not book until then. So no lost money etc,

Unless it is a long weekend, six weeks is plenty of time to get a reasonble price on airfares.

No I'm not missing the point. If we cant book our travel until 6 weeks before we miss out on the really cheap specials that come out now and then and almost always have to be booked more than 6 weeks before departure.

I hope reps from Fox read this forum. I was exactly in the same boat. Almost signed up at the start of this year. They won't get me without a dedicated footy channel.

Our 2007 draw is looking good!

Melbourne members...be happy as it looks as though you are getting 6 matches!

Also meaning with 11 matches in Sydney, 2 in Canberra and and 6 in Melbourne will only 3 to be shared between Bris, Adl. and Perth.

Baron-Hay was also pleased the draft fixtures give the Swans the six Melbourne/Geelong games they had requested.
Shaping up as a good draw!

I hope we play Adelaide in Sydney then and Port in Adelaide. I guess we'll only play Freo once too and that will be in Sydney aswell.

May not be West Coast in Perth. The word is that, unlike previous years, the teams that play each other twice won't necessarily be the teams that play in Rounds 1-7. This being the case combined with the fact that we'll be playing the Eagles in round 1 means that we'll be playing Freo at Subi (perhaps in addition to Sydney).

Not saying I agree with the new scheduling, but just that it may be the case.
And the man who started it all, the Schneiderman . . . . .
