This is the worst thing about it.

The skill level of the Aussies with the round ball is just embassassing. Can you image what the irish supporters think when these 'professionals' can't catch or even pick up a ball. It reflects very badly on the players.

It'd be great if one game was played with the round ball and one with the sherrin. This would never happen - but at least it would be more of a showcase for AFL, allowing the irish to appreciate our game more.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

        I enjoy it.
If we are so concerned about injuries to our players then we should whine about them surfing/riding in cars/crossing the street/gardening too.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I agree with the second part, i am not on the injury bandwagon

I just think it is boring cr@p

Not AFL, not Gaelic, therefore, everyone confused

It is like our cricket team playing Nigeria's handball side at volleyball, then trying to claim some superiority.

Bloody Kennelly ... he won the game for them.
It was he who turned it around in the last two minutes.

At least it makes the second match interesting now.

And it was Schnieder and Selwood who failed at vintage-sheedy "ice the clock" style. Should've just kicked it long into attack. We outmark the Irish on the long ball.

The teams and the ump's dont seem to be confused. I admit that because its only played 2 games / year, that the fans take 1/2 hour to get our heads around it again. But 1/2 hour well spent.

Put it this way, I'd rather watch IR than a RL test, or A-league game, or domestic cricket, or motorracing, or horse-racing. So at this very point in time, its numero uno.

I dont think the objective is to claim superiority. It a chance to see a selection of the best AFL players play together in a rep game. The games are always close, and when Aus get to big a lead, I often find myself hoping the irish get back into it.

I think its absoluetly great that so many top swans are involved.

I enjoyed it because of the number of Swans we had in it. I didn't actually care who won, i probably wanted the Irish to win for Tadhg's sake but i spend most of the time watching it saying things like "Ah, kick it to ROK", "No Baz, kick to Tadhg" and always found it cute when a Swans player passed it to another Swans player. Also having 2 out of my 4 favourite players there with Tadhg and Nicky made it even more enjoyable.

The best bits were the pitch invaders, and the irish commentary that went with them. Hilarious.

They don't get fined for invading the pitch ... they are made into local heroes.

The irish commentator had quite a liking to Baz aswell, which is found quite funny.

Or just not watch sport at all rather than some half-assed one.

I didn't catch it on Sunday but I've really enjoyed it the times I've seen it - fast, skilful & both sides seem genuinely passionate.

Love the picture in today's Herald of some cheeky Irish young'uns giving it to a slumped Schneider after the match.

Well there is ample proof around. Take a look at the swans list:

                            Players injured outside of AFL:
Everitt: knee. Climbing a ladder at home. Season.
Spriggs: knee. Playing at the beach. Season...Career.
Crouch: Shoulder. IR. No games missed.

Or just not watch sport at all rather than some half-assed one. [/B]
No one's forcing you to watch it. Do you go off to league forums and tell them how you dont like their sport (or whatever sport you dont like).?

I like it. I watch it. I post about it.

I'm not begrudging your choice to watch it. I have no issue with people who enjoy it for what it is. I don't get why people watch a half-assed sport just for the sake of watching some sport. I'm just stating that I don't find it much of a game. As for watching it because there are Swans in it, I don't give a toss what Swans players do outside normal games.

And I don't understand why people who aren't into it are "flogging their log" or "need their head examined".

Exactly, silly game which is not AFL.

Good summer fun/holiday for players, nothing more.

If you like it great, i find it pointless and boring.
