With all of the earnest discussion and occasional outrage over the Swans' delistings, there probably hasn't been enough congratulation given to a couple of young blokes who have earned their spot on the senior list. Given the competition, that's no small achievement.
Phillips has proved that it's still not impossible to play senior AFL if you're relatively short and can get blown around by a stiff breeze, if you've got the smarts. Here's hoping that he gets a few games, but manages to stay out of BBBH's way, next year.
Simpkin tends to get ignored a bit because we have so goddamn many young midfielders with potential, but at least has scored an article in the local Warrnambool paper. If he's on the same career trajectory as fellow Colacite and roomie Amon, then we're in for a treat.
So congrats, and here's to a big 2007 from 'em.
