IIRC for a couple of years after the merge they had an extended list, may have been 3 or 4 extra players, it was to do with the extra players that they got off the Fitzroy list. I think that's what happened, but I'm sure if I'm wrong we'll find out pretty quickly.
I wondered about whether that might be the case, but still I think it's drawing a long bow because those good players were picked up so late in the draft. The extra picks could easily have wound up being used on duds, as so many in the draft turn out to be.
Still though, I thought it was North Melb who insisted in the extended list and that's why their deal fell through and Brisbane did not.
