i used to go to the LSO(Lakeside Oval) in the 70,s with my grandpa. My mum told me the first game i went to was when i was about 6 weeks old,my mum,dad and grand parents used to go to just about every SMFC game.
Was looking at a few old posts, and came across one that ended up with a few people pulling out the resumes of SMFC support.
What I find amazing is the number of Victorian based fans, not just on RWO, but everywhere, who almost instantly when the opportunity arises, will tell you that they, mum, dad, brothers, sisters, all their neighbours, etc etc would be at EVERY game at the LSO when South played. In fact I am often left wondering how attendances at South home matches weren't regularly in the 30-40,000. Simply amazing.
They must have all been on interstate or overseas holidays during the 1981 season.
Am I wrong or is it possible some people might be a little careless with the truth? If so why? What purpose does it serve?
