Without rehashing the old argument, it would be interesting to see the demographics of the RWO members....

I caught Edelsten train and never got off...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I've followed the Swans (to varying degrees) since the mid 80's, going to the odd game every year or 3. Finally decided to become a member in 99. So does that make me a "Successful Swan" or am I part of the Edelsten Era?
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I don't know...I guess it's somewhere between watching every week and being able to start at 1 and name every player on the senior list numerically...???
or it's just where the heart is....Last edited by Bloody Hell; 17 November 2006, 07:33 AM.The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

I'm from 1996 when I returned to Sydney.( I was previously a Carlton supporter from 1964 til end 1995 - to be precise!) So once I bought the scarf at the first game of the season (and put the old craggy Carlton scarf in the back of the cupboard) I was hooked on the Swans.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Got the swans for my 21st in the 80's, and "had" to become a member and buy a seat cause I couldn't get my normal seat in the stands anymore in the 90's.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Dad use to take me and one of my brothers to games in the early-mid 80s after he played the game locally in the 70s (so I'm told). We didn't go to every game, maybe one every couple of months. This continued right up through to the mid-late 90s when we couldn't get a good seat anymore and we signed up as members. I think that dad was waiting for us to be cashed-up and working so that we could buy our own memberships and he wouldn't have to fork over the money for themLife's not a spectator sportComment

Moved from Brisbane to Sydney in 1986. Met a guy from Adelaide, who took me to the SCG for Swans V Carlton as our first real date.
I think he expected me to barrack for the Blues, alas for him I was hooked the minute I saw the red and white team.
Moved to Melbourne the next year and took out a Melbourne based supporters membership which I have maintained ever since.oh well, maybe next time......Comment

Moved to Sydney late 86, converted to a Swan for season 87. "Up there for Sydney .... ". I wanted to be Leanne with my own pink helicopter and access to all the players.Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.Comment
