It's just the play it down, hunted becomes the hunter rtpical tripe that's spun out every year to keep expectations in Sydney lower. After all, reading thisWe just really want to push again this year and hopefully we go one step further because we came last
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

the Swans are treating it as if they collected the wooden spoon.
McVeigh said. "We just really want to push again this year and hopefully we go one step furtherCaptain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Who allowed McVeigh to talk to the media?Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

The 21-year-old McVeigh played in all 25 matches last season and was an important cog in Sydney's charge to back-to-back grand final appearances.
If only he had of converted a few more times he would of been our stand out player of 2006... and yes, I am saying better than Goodes....Comment

I think it's refreshing to see the young guys getting some profile rather than the same-old lines from Hall, Barry, Kirk et al.
The quotes and motivation for '07 made perfect sense to me."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

They didn't finish last. They finished in fourth position on the ladder, then managed to get to the grannie - ahead of 14 other teams. IMO, I think it's a bit disheartening to the fans to read that the players thought they finished last.
Carlton finished last. We're not Carlton (or we haven't been for quite a while).Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Did you sit through 26 losing games in a row?
Losing the grannie wasn't nearly as bad as that ... even in 1996.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I am willing to pit my live game win-loss tragedies against anyone on the board. I have seen four live wins (I can tell you the team, ground and year of each) and something like 20 losses (only 13 in a row though).

Pigs arse.
26 games included the ones I had to sit through on TV ... I saw the SCG games live.
Honest to God ... the losing of the 2006 GF didn't hurt me. You don't win a game that you only half play. It's their own bloody fault they lost. They didn't turn up to play till after half time.
Whoever isn't over the 2006 loss yet ... it's time to move on - there are more important things.Last edited by AnnieH; 24 January 2007, 11:07 AM.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
