I need a total win-loss record before you get a sticker. It will be hard to beat 20:4 I'm guessing. But none of that Charlie Brown style losing compares with the frustration of finally getting to the Grand Final to lose in 1996 or the pain of living in Perth after a loss to the Eagles last year. I'm not even over '96 yet (and there are some out there still stinging after 1945) but in comparison I watched the game where Plugger broke Caven's jaw on Fox last year and actually enjoyed it which is a stark contrast to how I felt on the day.

Honest to God ... the losing of the 2006 GF didn't hurt me. You don't win a game that you only half play. It's their own bloody fault they lost. They didn't turn up to play till after half time.

Whoever isn't over the 2006 loss yet ... it's time to move on - there are more important things.

2006 GF loss would've hurt more if:[list=a][*]we had been in front for most of the game and lost.[*]we hadn't won in 2005[/list=a] losing 26 in a row hurt, but after a while I became used to losing.

Agreed. Once I realized we were "always" going to lose it wasn't as terrible. And the eventual win was great!

It's like going to the footy in Perth, a win is just an unexpected bonus.

Weird thing is, out of all the games in that era, i can still remember that game vividly. It was for many reasons a very memorable game.

That was my exact thought after the game, I would have been shattered to lose by 1 point if we hadn't won it the year before.

Definitely. Although I perhaps would rather have lost by a couple of goals than 1 point - thank god we were behind pretty much all day rather than the other way around.

When dad use to take me to the games back then I NEVER expected us to win. It stopped hurting when you got use to it.

1996 hurt bad. I got very, very drunk that night and unfortunately am on my brothers wedding video saying some silly things about it. I felt the pain for a long time. Thanks to the divorce I don't think anybody will ever see that video again though

1 point away from being back-to-back premiers does hurt.

If the club were satisfied with finishing second then its an indication they are content with failure.

Thankfully the players are not as easily satisfied as some RWO posters and have signalled their intent to go one better this year.

It's only footy.

We lost the granny because the team didn't turn up until the second half.

If "going one better" means that this year, if we make it, they are going to come out and play both halves of the granny, great - yes, they can go one better.

Going one better shouldn't mean we're going from 16th to 15th ... they worked too bloody hard to have that mental picture in their heads.

I'm bloody proud of the job they did last year - grand final included. So we didn't win. Whoopty-do - someone's gotta lose. We did beat 14 other teams to play the grand final.
